Why do humans fear death?

Is it because we are so attached to things? What is it to be attached to something? What is it that is attached? Is it the body? Or is it thought? If thought, isn't it seeking security through attachment? What is security? Why are we seeking security? Thought creates the idea of security, but is there even such thing as security? Is the desire for security created because we are lonely, isolated and depressed? Is it possible that all of us live that life, inwardly, even without seeing it?

I want to talk with you about something with great importance that concerns us all.
