NEW REPORT: A majority of Texas schools still have discriminatory dress codes.

Our latest report reveals that more than half of Texas public schools have policies that shame and punish Black, Brown, LGBTQIA+, religious minority, and low-income students.⬇️

BREAKING: Texas politicians just passed one of the country’s most radical anti-immigrant laws — EVER.

This legislation is white supremacy in action that will encourage racial profiling and separate Texas families.

If Gov. Abbott signs #SB4 into law, we’ll sue. #SB4 will override national immigration law and violate the Constitution.

It also — ATTENTION — gives local law enforcement and certain judges the power to *deport people* without due process.

Yes, deport people.

We can’t let Texas’ leaders normalize this kind of hate.

TONIGHT: Keller Independent School District, near Fort Worth, will vote on two policies that would harm LGBTQIA+ students.

We're calling on the district to stop these invasive, immoral, and unlawful proposals from taking effect. One policy would ban students from using bathrooms that align with their gender identity.

This will pave the way for school staff to invade students’ privacy and and restrict their access to restrooms — in violation of Title IX.

NOW: The Texas House just started debate on voter suppression bill #SB7. Lawmakers are manipulating the democratic process to pass laws attacking the democratic process itself.

We’ve fought this every step of the way with our partners & #txlege champions. We won’t stop now. In the last moments of this session, the Texas House pulled yet another procedural trick to force a vote on extreme legislation that will make it harder and scarier to vote — especially for voters of color and voters with disabilities.

The presence of Border Patrol agents, and its parent agency CBP, on the streets in major U.S. cities is disturbing. Border communities have long been terrorized by this agency — which acts first and never has to answer for it later. THREAD: Congress keeps dumping money on the agency despite CBP’s horrifying track-record of racism, abuse, and impunity. The CBP kidnappings of people during protests are just the most visible latest example of their offenses. A recap some of the worst recent abuses:

BREAKING: A court of appeals has unfortunately upheld a 5-year sentence for our client Crystal Mason, a Black mother of three who submitted a provisional ballot in 2016 that was not even counted. We are incredibly disappointed by the court of appeals’ decision and believe that Crystal did not break the law..

We will be pursuing all options in Crystal’s case and won’t stop until she receives justice.
