Deeply saddened to learn of the death of Prof. Syed Ahmad of @McMasterEcon. He was a scholar and gentleman, the likes of which I will not see again. He was fiercely intelligent and knowledgeable, and so kind. #Econtwitter#cdnecon
Syed was a monetary theorist by training, but made his name in capital theory, a field that economics has now wrongly neglected. In his heyday, he rubbed shoulders with the likes of Hicks, Samuelson, Tobin, Robinson and Pasinetti. #Econtwitter#cdnecon
