It's worth reading this impressive initial report from the Financial Times. It is linked to Israel and is quite significant in terms of offensive cyber operations. Lets analyze, #Israel's large scale cyber operation against #Hezbollah in #Lebanon.
ft.com/content/dbaac6… 1) Firstly, the attack was designed to cause real damage using cyber/virtual tools vs a strategically important network (communication infrastructure). It was carried out in a very organized manner, but it is also stated that the attack was not heavily based on 'remote intrusion'

Its South has key railroad link that makes the land bridge. Image

But just like the first aspect, defenders could increase their fire power which would decrease the operational pace. Russian decision to relocate troops from Kherson and further risking of air power shows this. Image

A thread 🧵 about the issue between Transnistria (supported by #Russia) and #Moldova under the shadow of the war in #Ukraine. I see the probability of any military move by Ukraine with Moldova as pretty average. But even if this will happen or not, there is a significant reality. Transnistria is an isolated region where Russia can only supply by from air or by sea. Putin's abrupt war in Ukraine supplied Ukraine HARPOONs that protect the shores of Transnistria and NASAMs and other ADSs which Russian logisitical aircrafts proven as vulnerable.

There is an increased disruptive activity in self-proclaimed and Russian-supported #Transnistria and #Moldova. Lets see what happened, what happens now and how it could evolve in military and political terms in near future. Also we have to asses it with the war in #Ukraine. 1) Transnistria was a region within the Moldovan SSR which was heavily Russified during the Soviet Union. After the independence in 1991, tensions between pro-Russian population and Moldovan Government was escalated against a suspicion of possible unification with Romania.

My concern here (even if you may don’t like this) is whether Ukrainian losses are sustainable or not. It is highly related with my lack of accurate info about the battleground numbers. But it is still hard to make this calculation with out stabilizing the front in Donetsk. New equipments are on the way and it would require a self assessment for a renewed counter offense. Most of the Western allies expect this via maneuver but be cautious. If there is an unstable front maneuver is hard to achieve. Front stabilization requires more deep strike capab.

On Trench Warfare and Positional Defence
Defining Russo-Ukrainian War as an example of trench warfare and positional defence increasingly become viable on social media. It was an old and less investigated subject. Let's see what is trench warfare, its goals, instruments; 🧵 1) Trenches are parts of Positional Defence with fortifications and other geographical distribution of assets to a certain area in the battle scene. Clausewitz defined positional defence as an approach where a military exploit from the relationship between tactic ↔️ strategy.

As #Ukraine started a counter-offensive versus Russian forces, battlefield become much more dynamic and contested. For avoiding a premature conclusion I waited to make an extensive analysis of counter-offensive strategy and tactics. But I think now it is time. Let’s start; Image Before starting a detailed analysis of an counter offensive, we have to look to the timeline that brought us until now. Since May, after the Russian decision to relocate its main target from whole of Ukraine to Dombass and Southern Ukraine, Russia focused on an all-out offensive.

Speaking of maritime domain and the issue of naval blockades, how we could define Russian use of naval power in its war with Ukraine? Lets start; 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻#WARINUKRAINE #RussianUkrainianWar Image If Russia shift from blockade to a such kind of gray book than we could define it as a a shift to 'guerre de course'. So what can be done? Ukraine could arm its own civilian fleet which is risky and problematic as it would make these ships as a legal target. So unlikely.
