Leaving R. Lee Ermey off the In Memoriam segment is an embarrassing moment in an already-bad #Oscars. He was one of the most iconic and recognizable actors of the last 3 decades. Toy Story, Full Metal Jacket, Seven. This is rock bottom, @TheAcademy. Shameful. A lot of people here have speculated that it was Ermey's politics that got him snubbed. I disagree. Burt Reynolds was a pretty notable friend of Trump and even voted for him. And he was in there. Sadly, I think it was a reflection of how the Academy viewed Ermey as an actor...
