On Wednesday morning we climbed the scaffolding outside Labour's London HQ and installed the kind of billboard we wish the party would run. Here’s why 🧵 Activists installing banner outside Labour HQ with a quote from Keir Starmer from February 2020 that reads "...millions of people vote in safe seats and they feel their voice doesn't count. That's got to be addressed by electoral reform." Proportional representation is not the answer to every ill this country is facing. No electoral system is perfect. But PR is fairer and would better equip Britain to deal the massive challenges we face.

🚨 We need 3,000 new monthly supporters to help us challenge the powerful and hold the government to account. We’d love you to be one of them 👉 donate.ledbydonkeys.org (a bit more on why below if you need it) We choose to be 100% funded by small donations. We refuse major donors because we think accepting that kind of money builds dependence that can turn into access and influence (looking at you, 55 Tufton St)

We need 3,000 new monthly supporters to help us ramp up our campaign and hold Johnson’s cynical, morally bankrupt government to account. We’d love you to be one of them. Here’s the plan 🧵

Donate.ledbydonkeys.org Led By Donkeys has come a long way from our days deploying a bucket of wallpaper paste and a ladder. But creativity and humour are still at the heart of all we do to challenge those in power.

“Dad sacrificed his life to follow the rules... Conservative MPs should be ashamed to count the PM as a colleague, let alone support him.” Hannah Brady and other bereaved families have been outside Downing St and Tory HQ today, explaining why the party scandal matters (thread)

(Bit of a thread on why) Our national politics is in a grim place. When politicians openly lie with impunity and beat the nationalist drum to distract from their failures, it damages our democracy.

🚨BREAKING Just got word that @Sainsburys has pulled its advertising from GB News and Nigel Farage’s show. Amazing job everyone. 👏 After a couple of billboards, an advan at their HQ, more than 2.5 million views on films, and escalating pressure, Sainsbury’s did the right thing. (This tweet 👇is careful corporate speak for “we’ve stopped now”).

587 tweets from @Sainsburys since we exposed them for paying Farage’s salary, but still no word from them on whether they’re pulling their advertising, despite thousands of people asking. Time to escalate.

Want to see this 👇 on billboards? >>> secure.ledbydonkeys.org While we have you, a word on why we’re doing this… When GBNews launched, its chairman Andrew Neil asked people to give it the benefit of the doubt. Don’t prejudge us, he said. Watch how it evolves. So despite our concerns we kept quiet and watched to see what happened next.

Hey @Sainsburys. You tweeted 285 times over the weekend, but not one answer to the people asking why you fund Nigel Farage as he attacks RNLI lifeboat crews. So what’s your policy? Still paying Farage’s salary?

@sainsburys 100s of messages like these from concerned customers 👇, but still no reply from @sainsburys/@sainsburysnews

Boris Johnson is about to agree a deal which will see tariffs put on UK goods when we diverge from EU standards. This footage, from the referendum campaign in 2016, shows he misled Britain.
(Location: Dover ferry terminal) We found this footage because we’ve been tracking down every word Johnson said in the 2016 referendum campaign, so everyone can compare what he promised to what he now delivers. It’s 200k words and it’s here at JohnsonDossier.com

We own TheBrexitParty.com. Farage and co have sent us a long legal letter demanding we give it to him. Well, he can have the website... for a million quid, all proceeds to the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants (price goes up £50k a day) In the 8-page legal letter we got from Farage’s lawyers he cites EU law *five* times. Who knew Nigel Farage was such a fan of European law? 🤔

Boris Johnson is using his executive power to suppress the report into Russian interference in our democracy until after the election. Why? #releasetherussiareport #ge2019 The report is based on analysis from Britain’s intelligence agencies who approved it for publication following a long clearance process. Is Johnson suppressing it because nine Russian oligarch donors to the Conservative party are named in the report?

EXPOSED: Guess who used taxpayer funds to host the lavish launch of a think tank campaigning to let American corporations run NHS hospitals? Yes, Boris Johnson.
(Location: St Thomas’ Hospital - SOUND ON) Last year The Times covered the launch of an IFT report pushing for US companies to run NHS hospitals. It was authored by Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan

Has @DanielJHannan ever adequately explained this one? How does he square this circle? I mean, obviously he's a *very serious person* who should be invited to pontificate on all channels at all times on matters relating to European integration. But how does he explain this doozy?

Eagles Meadow, Wrexham. Question: of all the people in this poster, who’d be the last to admit Brexit was a mistake? If the last drop of drinking water ran dry, cancer drugs couldn’t be imported and the £ fell to parity with the Venezuelan Bolívar, who’d be the last to hold out? The winner of each group goes through to the final
Group A

Our final picture from the #MarchToLeave. We started by nicking their website, then you donated £30k to follow them all the way, we did a daily count & showed the whole thing was a numerically imploding shitshow, and thoroughly rinsed @Nigel_Farage. Now, finally, it’s done. Phew Worth giving a shoutout to our ad van drivers and photo and video ninjas. They got a good slice of abuse and smiled their way through it. High fives and big ❤️ to them all

Watch @Nigel_Farage try to run away from his past. Here, on the #MarchToLeave, he’s confronted with footage of the moment he was busted for taking a private jet to work. The man’s a fraud. He’s not anti-elite. He *is* the elite. This is the video we’re showing all day on the big screen at @Nigel_Farage’s #MarchToLeave
