The truly terrible decision to axe 34 of its staff, cut it by 10 mins, cut its original reporting and investigations, and to change its format to 'studio-based debate' format. 1/22 First-up - and in the interests of full-disclosure - I have a book in progress, partly based on my PhD [which was on BBC Current Affairs TV, mainly #Panorama] which will include a chapter on #Newsnight. I wonder what state it’ll be in by the time my book’s published. 2/22

In August they compared it to plumbing. It's so tedious. So let me repeat my August thread --> I see there’s some rage about media studies again. Shouting about how useless it is, comparing it to being an electrician or a plumber. As someone with a City & Guilds in Plumbing & Heating (qualified in 1991) & a PhD in Media Studies (awarded 2019) I have some skin in the game.
