The time for taking action to impose significant costs on President Putin and the Kremlin starts now.
By recognizing two fake ‘People’s Republics’ that his own military actions have carved out of eastern Ukraine, and then ordering in Russian troops as alleged “peacekeepers,” Putin has rejected the Minsk Agreement and clearly violated Ukrainian sovereignty and international law.

There is tremendous promise and potential in a stable and democratic Ethiopia and a strong U.S.-Ethiopia relationship.
Both are damaged by ongoing conflict, a festering humanitarian crisis, and reports of ethnic cleansing in Tigray.
Disturbing accounts of systematic atrocities, looting, forced removals, & sexual abuse must be investigated and perpetrators must be held accountable. The Ethiopian gov’t should acknowledge the presence of Eritrean troops & irregular militia in Tigray, & remove them immediately.

Last week, my colleagues in the Senate and I wrote AG Barr, requesting documents on the politicization of our #CourtsInCrisis. You can read our letter HERE: whitehouse.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/…
Unlike other judicial bodies, the immigration courts lack meaningful #JudicialIndependence from the Executive Branch

THREAD: Late last night – I asked the President’s lawyers a pretty simple question: Does President Trump agree that foreigners’ involvement in American elections is illegal?
Their answer was stunning – and left me and many of my colleagues even more alarmed than before.
First – some context.
We’re conducting this impeachment trial to determine whether President Trump abused his power and worked with a foreign government (Ukraine) to interfere in our 2020 election, but we’ve seen President Trump do similar things before.

I will be voting NO on Matthew Kacsmaryk, President Trump’s nominee for a federal judgeship in Texas. His anti-#LGBTQ views would move our nation backwards.
This #PrideMonth, Rs are trying to confirm Kacsmaryk--who compared the “march towards so-called marriage equality” with “complete lawlessness,” & called transgender identity “a psychological condition in need of care, not a category of persons in need of special legal protection”

Wonky but true: If we want to remain the world’s strongest economy and a leader in innovation, we need to reform our patent laws.
That’s right, our patent laws.
Most Americans don’t think about patents very often, but they’re a key bedrock of our economy.
We need to do more to help ensure that American businesses, researchers, inventors, and organizations are incentivized to develop the new technologies that will change the world, new cures that will save thousands of lives, and more.

I don’t have 1000 words for this photo (credit to @AP photographer @evanvucci) but I do have some.
It's no secret that I don't agree with President Trump very often, but I pray for the President regularly, as I did at today’s National Prayer Breakfast.
In front of thousands of people at the event and many more watching at home, I prayed that God would grant President Trump wisdom, grace, and peace
