What happened at the #Oscars worries me on a few fronts.
Half the world seems to be of the mindset that what Will Smith did was right.
He could have made a bigger statement by leaving the ceremony or waiting until later to speak about the pain that caused on his biggest night.
What Will Smith did wasn’t tough or “manly”. Showing strength would have been using his win and gigantic platform to defend his wife and women everywhere by speaking out against the joke- instead, everything he says and does now will only be met with derision.

Some of us on here don't realize that the world is already at war - it’s an information war- and Russia has been attacking for 10+ years.
We can’t be “right fighters”, we have to fight back against disinformation- that means sharing war content that makes us all uncomfortable.
It is not “exploitive” to share content of what is happening in Ukraine and the very real human toll it is taking on their men, women, and children- they are victims who will not have a voice if their stories aren’t shared.
We have to amplify Putin’s atrocities in real-time.

Putin sends spoiled rations to his troops 7 years past the expiration while Zelensky is personally on the frontlines and pays his soldiers much more than Russia does.
If you’re dying for Putin, you should consider fighting for Zelenski who will pay you.
Ukraine is even paying 5 million rubles to voluntarily surrender.
“We offer Russian soldiers a choice: to die in an unjust war, or full amnesty and 5 million rubles of compensation if they put down their guns and voluntarily surrender to prison,”
On the battlefield, Russia is suffering heavier losses in personnel and armor and aircraft than expected.
Ukrainian air defenses, including aircraft, continue to be operable to engage and deny access to Russian aircraft in places over #Ukraine. cnn.com/2022/02/26/pol…
Without uncontested control of the skies, it becomes more difficult for an army on the move to see and strike targets from the air.
Together, these challenges have so far prevented the quick overthrow of major Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kyiv.

At some point Congress will vote to decide if America will continue to be a democracy.
Of course, I’m talking about voting rights.
A lot of polarization is swirling around the Freedom to Vote Act and the facts of this bill aren’t the easiest to understand.

Obviously because the main co-sponsor is Sen Manchin, there will be a lot of negativity on this thread about BBB and filibuster rules.
But, for you to truly support it, we need to get the message out about how it matters.
This is the most important legislation of our lifetime.

The level of negativity I am seeing and hearing from democrats on here is unnerving, but I get it- @POTUS’s message isn’t getting out.
Because I respect Carville so much I’ll start with the economy.
It’s the strongest of any 1st term president in 50 years.

Corporate America is exploding because Biden’s Covid-19 vaccination and American Rescue Plans reduced the jobless rate to 4.2% in November from 6.2% in February.
Also, the GDP growth in every incoming administration during the past four decades never exceeded 2.74% until 2021.

I’ve been lucky enough to have met or worked with a lot of folks- Besides Sen. Jones (I’m biased)- @JoeBiden has been the most decent man that I have met.
I had the chance to spend part of a campaign day in 2017 with him and it changed how I view a lot of things-
Thread: 1/12
I was able to be with him and listen to him privately speaking to others behind closed doors- I expected him to talk electoral math of the race, how to win certain voters, and all the things we all usually talk about when we are campaigning. He didn’t.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but being an asshole and being tough aren’t the same thing.
Empathy, humility, and sometimes even forgiveness for those who ask for it take a lot more mental toughness than joining abusers in their behavior.
That’s also what Biden stands for.
In the coming days I think I may share my own mental health stories of hurt, abuse, and heartbreak.
For all of us, this year has been devastating. For me, I lost almost everything I loved or cared about.
In almost all the case it was because I said- enough.
