Bhadrabahu Swami (c. 367 â c. 298 BC) was born in the Pundravardhana kingdom (mid-northern Bengal) to a Bangali Varendra Brahmin family. Bhadrabahu was the author of Kalpa SÅĢtra, 4 Chedda sutras, commentaries on 10 scriptures, Bhadrabahu Samhita and Vasudevcharita.
At the end of 16th century several Jesuit missionaries from Portugal visited the Kingdom of JashÅr (m. Chandicaen) to establish trade with Bengal. In 1598, Father Franciseus Fernandez from Porto de GrandÊ sent Dommicus Sosa in Chandecan who narrated the Chronica primÃĄria.

The rising popularity of Sri Chaitanya and the rise of Hindus under his leadership caused headaches for the Yavanas. So Chand Qazi issued an order to stop chanting the Vaishnava name and performed cow slaughter. 
The Panchakot was a fort extending about five miles. The fortifications surrounding this fort extended over an area of ââtwelve square miles and were surrounded by moats. The original fort was surrounded by stone walls.
