I heartily congratulate foremost rights activist and Exec. Director, Foundation for Good Governance and Social Change, Comrade Austin Osakue on his election as President of the African Forum for Advocacy and Citizens Engagement (AFACE). 1/4
At the keenly contested election held in Kigali, Rwanda, Osakue polled 156 votes to defeat four other contestants from Kenya, Ghana, Morocco and Malawi, emerging the first Nigerian to be elected as president of the 32-member body. 2/4

1. As we mark World Art Day, the significance and justification for the Edo Museum of West African Art (EMOWAA) is brought to the fore. My administration is committed to promoting arts, culture and tourism.
2. Aside the fact that we would be preserving our artifacts at the museum, it will serve as a contact point to remind our people of the magnificence and sophistication of our forebears, as well as provide a rich experience of the cultural arts traditions of Benin people.

Our attention has been drawn to misleading and false media reports claiming that @GovernorObaseki has agreed to provide grazing land for herders in the state.

Our position on the matter of grazing land is clear and has not shifted, which is that there is no free land for grazing in Edo. Grazing is an economic activity just like poultry and piggery or any other agric enterprise. Govt will not cede any land in the state for grazing.

The Edo State Government hereby imposes a 24-hour curfew across the state till further notice.
The curfew is to take effect from 4pm, today, October 19, 2020.
