We are seeing a new surge of #COVID19 in the US and once again it appears to be hitting nursing facilities and other congregate settings the hardest. Meaning as with the first surge, black & brown disabled ppl and support workers are likely to be the hardest hit. #CripTheVote At some point as society we need to recognize the ableism and racism at work in this. If our nation valued the lives of the people getting hit the hardest by this, we would not be clinging to to a model that ensures such devastation. #CripTheVote

I'll try and cover it in the thread that follows. #CripTheVote … #CDPA or Consumer Directed Personal Assistance began in New York and was quickly copied across the country. It was designed by disabled people for disabled people to give us more control over or lives and the supports we used to live in the community. #CripTheVote
