In yesterday's thread on Lakshmana, there was a point on the anger of Lakshmana i.e. Adi Sesha avatara. In Dwapara, even Balarama was famous for his anger.
A couple of instances where his famous temper was faced by the world.

1. Dragging Hastinapura to Ganga
This incident is captured in Srimad Bhagwatham Skanda 10, Chapter 68.
Samba, Krishna's son from Jambhavati, tries to abduct Lakshmaanaa, Duryodhana's daughter. The Kuru army surround him and engages in a battle.
2/
Being a Mahrathi himself, Samba was an accomplished warrior. However, the Kuru warriors i.e. Duryodhana, Karna, Sala etc finally capture him and hold him hostage.
Yadavas wanted to extract revenge and rescuse Samba. The Yadu army was prepared for a battle.

The commentary for this quoted by the author is what makes it very interesting.
When Lakshmana invoked Rama as "Dharmatma", the arrow didn't budge, as there were doubts about the righteousness of his act of killing Tataka who was a woman

Parashara muni was a descendant from Brahma directly..
Brahma --> Vasishta --> Shakti --> Parashara
Extremely knowledgeable and author of any works, he was blessed by Maha Vishnu that Bhagwan would be born as his son along with Satyavathi.
2/
Satyavati's story is lot more interesting.
Once there was a King of Chedi called Vasu, who undertook a severe penance. This made Indra jittery who presented him with vast kingdom and a "vimana".
Vasu gave up his penance & started to look after his kingdom...

A real life incident shared by H.H. Shrimad Sudheendra Tirtha Swami, 20th Pontiff of Kashi Mutt Samsthan
In purvaashrama days, when Swami was going to school, he had a classmate who was the son of a school attendant, earning Rs. 8 per month
1/
The man had to take care of his wife, 4 children, in-laws. Though the father-in-law had some meager income, life was a challenge to the family.
Once the boy had to attend an exam in a school far away from his own school / home. He can't return home for mid-day meals
2/
His father gave him 1 anna (6 paise) for tiffin. The boy spends only half of it i.e. half anna / 3 paise which definitely wouldn't have filled his stomach.
When Swami asked him : "Why did you save half anna and remain hungry?"

Do you know that World Sanskrit Day / Vishwa Samskrita Divas is not celebrated on a day, but a specific tithi?
Yes, that's correct. It's celebrated on Shravan Poornima day.. a practice started in 1969

This practice was started by V.K.R.V. Rao who was the education minister in 1969
Now, do you know we have had Indian Sanskrit Commission in the past? Many of mutt seers and swamijis have been part of the discussions and contributed immensely to many of the same..
2/
Chronology:
1957 : First Sanskrit Commission started by Nehru (report available publicly)
1961 : Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha at Tirupati
1965 : Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth by Shastri
Renamed to Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidaypeeth (deemed university)

With the advent of calendar year 2021, it's time for resetting our goals / resolutions.
One resolution that I am steadfast on is to contribute to our temples / social causes. Here's a list of temples which have online options which I frequent.
