Quick thread for the uninitiated on why this should raise some eyebrows.

The TL;DR is that this man seems to be promoting the (untrue) narrative that white farmers in South Africa are being ethnically cleansed by their black countrymen. This narrative is popular among neo-nazis. "Boer" is the word for "farmer" in Afrikaans, the language of the white Dutch-descended minority of South Africa.

The word is now often used to refer specifically to white South African farmers, and to some is a cultural identity.

“Oh, so just because I reminisce about how people who opposed fascism were defeated in the 1930s and 1940s, that automatically makes me a Nazi?!” Over the last few years Proud Boys’ rhetoric has shifted more and more away from “antifa are the real fascists” and towards “we are straight-up fascists.”

Obviously they always were, but they’ve gotten progressively more brazen about it.

Not unlike how groups such as the EDL or Britain First hold events in the UK that focus on opposing ‘Muslim grooming gangs’ as a way to push xenophobia. This means that when people show up to oppose Qheads and Proud Boys, it’ll be important to make clear to observers that they do so out of opposition to far-right death cults, not out of support for child sex trafficking.

While there, they snapped a couple photos of Boog Boys/Militiamen, who stood guard around the cenotaph to prevent protesters from vandalizing it. The word "antifa" is not a noun. It is not the name of a single, monolithic organization.

The word 'antifa' is an adjective. Like "anti-government."

It is can apply to non-violent activism, not just militant/revolutionary groups. Because the word "antifa" is an adjective, the legal categorization of any so-called "antifa" activism as terroristic effectively gives the gov't the ability to label any group/person as such.
