🧵OK so yesterday the mighty @NYCCouncil finance team unveiled our FY24 Preliminary Budget Tax & Economic Forecast!

But let's break it down a bit for those who didn't study economics at UC Berkeley.

council.nyc.gov/press/2023/03/… We forecast revenues will continue to grow slowly, averaging 2.2% from FY23 to FY27. While that is considerably less than the 5.2% average we've seen over the last decade, our forecast is still $2.8 billion 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐯𝐞 OMB’s FY24 forecast.

A man driving a U-Haul went on a rampage in Bay Ridge. He was just apprehended in Sunset Park. Several people were hit and badly injured. We have no idea of motives at this time but this wasn't an accident. Thank you to @NYPD72Pct @NYPD68Pct. I will share more info when I can. Suspect was actually arrested near the BK Battery Tunnel. We think he hit at least 6 people with the truck and 2 are in very bad shape. PLEASE pray for these folks.

🧵Over the past week I'm sure you've read about infrastructure & resiliency and what has/hasn't been done over the past decade to better fortify and prepare NYC for the inevitable next Hurricane Sandy... Restaurants are all struggling to make ends meet with take-out and delivery as their only means of staying afloat. 1/3 And while some popular delivery apps have temporarily waived fees for their customers, they continue to charge the restaurant a commission that could easily erase the entire profit margin on a delivery. 2/3
