Unlike other #dnd settings, in Ghostwalk, the afterlife is a physical place beneath the earth. Most spirits travel directly there, but humanoid souls can endure as ghosts. The city of Manifest was built atop the entrance to the land of the dead, where ghosts can, well, manifest!
