(1) The latest #Covid#vaccine surveillance report from Public Health England (PEI) contains several surprises. Deeper analysis also raises serious questions about data validity.
Let’s start with infections, where vaccine effectiveness is negative in the age range 40 – 79 (2) A negative vaccine effectiveness means, that infections per 100,000 are higher among the vaccinated, than the unvaccinated. (1) VAERS provides an overview of adverse vaccine events in the USA. EudraVigilance is the European equivalent. Its latest data shows 572,000 reports of suspected vaccine side effects and 6,448 alleged deaths (2) Is the data reliable? (1) The latest data from Public Health England (PHE) on the Delta variant, which accounts for 99.5% of all new Covid cases, does not contain any surprises. It shows that Delta has caused 1,091 deaths among the fully vaccinated and 142 deaths among the partially vaccinated (2) A closer look at the two reported age groups reveals, that for those <50 years of age, the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is lower for the unvaccinated (0.05%) than for the fully vaccinated (0.06%). Interestingly, at 0.01% CFR is lowest for those ≥ 21 days post dose 1

(1) This thread looks into the latest briefing No. 18 of Public Health England on #Covid#Delta cases and deaths.
Until 25 June 257 people have died within 25 days of a positive test, 92 were unvaccinated, 163 had at least one shot and for 2 the status is unknown(??) (2) Preliminary Case Fatality Rate (CFR) is 0.21%. Among the <50 years of age, the rate is lower for the unvaccinated (0.03%) compared to the fully vaccinated (0.04%). For the > 50, CFR is 2.5 times higher for the unvaccinated (5.6%) than for the fully vaccinated (2.22%)
