How technology saved two of rarest animals on the planet?

Yesterday, Iran tragically lost another one of its precious cheetahs in road collision. This location has already claimed lives of 12 cheetahs ☹️
But #technology stepped in and averted a potential disaster

#Thread 1️⃣ When cheetah body was discovered, it appeared healthy and strong.
Asiatic cheetahs are smaller than their African counterparts. This one seemed to be in good shape and size. Initially, the field crew presumed it to be a young, possibly dispersing male, around 2 years old.

Yesterday, Iran lost an Asiatic #cheetah pregnant with 3 in a tragic car collision.
Fewer than 30 cheetahs exist

#Thread 2/It is not a normal road, but a major highway. It was not built recently, but was part of silk road for ages. Sadly, it is part of #BeltandRoad with serious expansion plans. So, the future is not good for cheetahs

فیلم از موسسه تصویر حیات وحش 1/ 20 سال پیش، همین روزها، همراه محیط بانان با یک لندرور قدیمی از نایین به سوی عباس آباد، در نزدیکی چوپانان و بیاضه حرکت کردیم. بعد از 200 کیلومتر رانندگی و شب ماندن در کوه های بیاضه، با دست خالی برگشتیم، فقط پشگل بز و سرگین تشی کل رهاورد ما بود
