There is something that stinks about the lies and smears of the French Govt’s cover-up following the shameful behaviour of their police in Paris at the weekend, and suggests they PLANNED to use outlawed tactics against #LFC fans; A thread:
1/12 Listening to French Int Minister and Sports Minister double down on lies about #LFC fans, it’s as though they had STUDIED the Thatcher/South Yorks police play-book:
Fans arriving late✅
Thousands of ticketless fans✅
LFC specific threat to order✅
Attacked police✅

Thread: In 2020, Macron with his ‘iron fist’ policies, tried to introduce tough new laws in France, which included giving a violent police the right to ‘kettle’ protestors, outlawing filming of police in action, and the right to remove journalist accreditation on the spot.
1/4
These were all struck out by lawmakers, who deemed them not proportionate, unnecessary and unlawful.

All 3 of these acts were carried out unlawfully by French police at the Stade de France, viciously kettling fans, snatched journalists to delete film & remove accreditation

Short threat reflecting on last night, and 2 things painfully apparent:

1. Initial outer ring perimeter security not just inadequate, but life-threatening. 75,000 corralled through 2 ridiculously narrow approaches to stadium, leading to just a handful of screening channels.
1/5
These were all completely understaffed, and with so few entry points this led to a fan build up so dangerous, a major tragedy could have occured.

Despite this total failure of organisation, and such primitive systems in place fans somehow remained patient and good humoured.

A short thread on the insanity of the Tory Govt’s reckless approach to Coronavirus, as they refuse to take action to restrict travel from Madrid, despite a major outbreak there, where the contagion rate is growing faster than anywhere else in the world. (1/8)

#LFC #CORONAVIRUS In Spain, the authorities have ordered all La Liga games to be played behind closed doors with no fans. That is sensible - and necessary - because there have already been 35 deaths after a 100% increase in cases in less than 2 days, with HALF of them coming in Madrid (2/8)

A short thread on Coronavirus and #LFC's prospects of winning the title in front of their fans. Hate to say it, but it seems inevitable the govt will insist games be played behind closed doors soon - possibly by end of month or first week in Apr. (1/4) So suddenly the 2nd half of the Manchester derby becomes huge for Liverpool, who currently require 3 wins to become Champions. They play #EFC Mar 16, #CPFC Mar 21…and City Apr 5. By then, a ban on public gatherings could be in place. (2/4)
