I don't think we talk enough about how Italy ran at least 16 concentration camps during #WWII where Mussolini ethnically cleansed Croatians, Slavs, and Jews. Italy really just tried to memory-holed their atrocities. When the camps were shut down in 1943, the Jewish survivors who couldn't flee were shipped to Auschwitz 🙃

If I could choose my #LastTweet it would be this: the "Roman Empire" isn't real. "Rome" produced zero unique material culture. Zero primary documents. Zero radiocarbon dates of famous "Roman" monuments. It's a fictional homogenizaton of European indigenous culture by the Church. Numismatics is pseudoscience nonsense.
