I'm not sure is this the same petition on behalf of "the silent majority" seeking to remove the #cyclelane on Shannon bridge that struggled to 100 signatures. This has about 370 now. Following a complaint that the lanes are causing congestion in the afternoons I took a look 1/9 at times mentioned. I'm either very lucky or the complaint is overstated. Here's the return leg. Happy to have another go (as timetable allows) at other times on weekdays if complainants want to suggest. Have to see a guy out that way -about a bike as it happens. 2/9

LONG THREAD:
I can see the Luka Bloom thing from all sides.
Full disclosure. I can't stand spotify. I doubt I've ever discovered a new act through it I didn't know of or hear somewhere else. Though I appreciate why acts can feel it helps them. 1/ When I do use it it's mostly as a reference library and for stuff I bought yonks ago on whatever format. A clumsy, clunky windows 95ee library that gobbles up system resources, continually tries to steer me away from what I'm listening to toward acts signed to 2/

LONG THREAD: (But there's pictures!) Seen some comments in the last week with people venting frustration at aspects of #Limerick A City For Cars Post Covid plans. Some have claimed the city is being choked and ruined by @LimerickCouncil 1/
#limerick50days
#LimerickEdgeEmbrace modest, half hearted and to my mind disengenuous nods at pedestrianisation and provision of safe cycling infrastructure. The comment of one particular young lady who went full on lickspittle claiming the city was ruined by bike lanes and you could go nowhere because of them. 2/

Lunchtime tweet. Further to my observations regarding morning traffic volumes in Corbally (R463) I contacted my local representatives and local authority @ClareCoCo suggesting it's high time there was proper cycling lanes. Responses are thus far positive. #cycling #commute 1/ Image I showed them sample photographs of traffic volumes at the same time each day compared to the one day just the local secondary school was off. Imagine if we could get half those lads that are being dropped off to cycle. By the way -lots of lads DO cycle 2/ Image
