Humanitarian Response Updates: THREAD The HoA continues to be affected by climate change induced drought. Hence why GoE's mid to long term emphasis is on the Green Legacy initiative as a means of mitigating the consequences of climate change. Human Rights Council: THREAD By the end of last week, the UNHRC in Geneva had endorsed by a simple majority vote a resolution titled “Human Rights Situation in Ethiopia” which was drafted and tabled mainly by the member states from the European Union.  (1/5)

Humanitarian Response Update by region (as per NDRMC): THREAD Amhara: Following the recent military victories against TPLF, GoE has distributed 1,316qtls of food to Woldiya, Qobo & Mersa Woredas in N. Wollo Zone.  31,899qtls of food was distributed to Ataye, Efrata, Antsokiya, Shewarobit, Menz-Mama, Menz-Gera Weredas in N. Shewa Zone. (1/4)

Human Rights Watch Report: TPLF has been designated a terrorist organization per the laws of the land hence counter terrorism measures are being taken against its informants, agents and financiers. (1/4) The Federal Intelligence and Security Task Force has indicated it has caught TPLF operatives undertaking various covert activities by fundraising, serving as informants and facilitating logistical support for the terrorist group. Terrorist threat in the Horn: TPLFs explicit actions, alliances and rhetoric is testify that the terrorist group’s aims are destruction and escalating instability; this ultimate goal and its ambitions clearly surpass the goal of securing humanitarian assistance. Alliance of terror groups TPLF + Shene - THREAD The declared alliance between Shene/OLA &TPLF is not new nor surprising to the GoE. While the timing of the public declaration needs examining, GoE has been indicating for well over 2 yrs now that TPLF have been using Shene as errand runners for their destructive mission. (1/8)

Problematic Framing:  if twitter hashtags continue to be the source of intelligence that key policy makers globally defer to, then one ends up taking as truthful for example - the fake Humera massacre that has been trending by TPLF operatives for two weeks now. (1/4) It is being concocted that Tigray is under a siege or blockade by the GoE. Hence why TPLF waged a confrontation on the Afar entry point to give the impression that the government is blocking humanitarian assistance through that route and hence make demands for other routes. As of May 3 #AxumCriminalInvestigation led by Federal Attorney General @FAGEthiopia has collected testimonies of 95 witnesses and documentary evidence.
