So the #Budget sounded like it shd be good news…but unfortunately it’s not.

1) It’s not news. The £5bn figure for funding has been on the table for a year and has been roundly agreed to be wholly inadequate to address safety issues.

2) It doesn’t change the current criteria for accessing govt funding which only funds a small part of the array of essential remediation to make buildings safe. These aren’t optional extras - buildings cannot be signed off without the full set of works done.

1) ACM is NOT the “most dangerous” it is just the first type of dangerous cladding that came to the government’s attention 2) It’s not just cladding. Missing fire breaks in 000s building - which would allow fire to spread fast - are clear sign of systemic failure. But not included in Government funding

For just over a year now I’ve known the building I live in is dangerously unsafe.

I’ve spent £8k for people to be on site but not make it any safer.
I’ve spent £3k on a temporary alarm.
I’ve spent £1k on additional insurance. I’ve spent countless sleepless nights.

I’ve spent countless hours learning about fire safety and leasehold law.

I’ve sent countless emails to my freeholder, managing agent and to government. Most without reply.
