We are a growing Marxist-Leninist collective based in the U.S. settler empire.

Communists understand the world through the use of dialectical materialism. But what actually is dialectical materialism, and what makes it a good analytical tool?
We'll look at what dialectics means & what materialism is and how those two help Marxists interpret the world ⬇️⬇️
With origins in numerous ancient societies, dialectical reasoning seeks to find and expose the
contradictions in an argument in order to resolve them. Philosophers focused on the dialectics of opposites; we can't know what evil is without knowing what good is, for example.

In the face of fascist attacks on Indigenous Rights, RAS expresses its full solidarity with the Indigenous Peoples targeted by the settler-colonial U.S. empire. The latest assault is led by none other than the Supreme Court.
Learn about the Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta decision🧵⬇️
The Oklahoma v. Castro-Huerta decision sets precedent that U.S. states which occupy protected Indigenous lands have the “authority” to violate their sovereignty by prosecuting people who commit crimes in tribal territory.
This is a blatant violation of Indigenous sovereignty.

We are losing our right to safe abortions. This violent policy was decided on like the flip of a switch. The ruling class imposed their political will over the people and now we suffer.
This is state violence against the people. This ruling class dictatorship must end. Thread⤵️
The overturning of Roe v. Wade leaves abortion rights to a state by state basis. Access to abortions varies in each state, some being more repressive than others. One of the most reactionary examples is Texas, where recently the state has taken multiple violent measures.[1]

We hear everyday that the U.S. is a shining example of democracy; that it stands for the people. We ask, “Which people?”
The recently leaked court ruling is massively unpopular - only 30% of the country supports it.[1] Rights are for the rulers.
This is ‘bourgeois democracy.’
A country does not exist in a vacuum. It is the product of the classes that make up a society, and the result of the conflicts between those classes.
The U.S. was born out of bourgeois revolution; in 1776, a section of the colonial ruling class rebelled against the British.

Among socialists, #NATO is often referred to as Nazi Arming and Training Organization. As NATO members give money, weapons, training, covert ground support, and political legitimacy to Ukrainian fascists, it is important to reflect on NATO’s own Nazi history.
Thread ⤵️
In the wake of World War 2 in 1949, #NATO was founded explicitly as an anti-Communist military alliance. Naturally, their first true allies were the fascists who had just spent the past 6 years doing everything they could to slaughter and destroy the Communists:
the Nazis.

#OTD in 1961, the great revolutionary and theorist Frantz Fanon passed away. Born in French-occupied Martinique, Fanon's writings and work would not only impact the Algerian revolution and the entire African revolution, but also revolutionaries the world over.
Even after the imperialists are defeated, many of the wounds they inflicted on our world will still have to be healed. Malcom X once said, "if you stick a knife in my back nine inches and pull it out six inches, there's no progress... (continued below 👇)

¡Solidaridad por Colombia!
The people of Colombia are rising, and are facing murderous opposition from the Colombian police, militarized and trained by the US military.
We can’t ignore the role of the US empire in the state-sanctioned massacre in Colombia!
The Latin American nation of Colombia has seen consistent popular uprisings since 2019, largely in response to the negligence of the US-backed, right-wing austerity government of Ivan Duque, as well as heightened violence against Indigenous activists. [1]

There seems to be some confusion as to how imperialism benefits those who reside in the imperial core countries, even the exploited proletariat who reside in the imperial countries.
Self proclaimed socialists, communists, and Marxists have forgotten the connections between cheap clothes and sweat shops, tropical products and plantations, electronics and child miners, in short, goods from the Global South and exploitation of the Global South.

The Biden presidency has been a perfect example of liberal governance. In one breath, Biden feigned concern for the violence faced by Asians & Asian Americans in the US while simultaneously announcing renewed militarization against China thru the Pacific Deterrence Initiative🧵⬇️
The Pacific Deterrence Initiative calls for an additional $27 billion in spending by 2027 to "deter" China by expanding US military power in the Pacific. This relies on establishing a tighter militarized grip over Guam, Okinawa, Philippines, Korea, Hawai'i, and many other nations

134 years ago today, the Dawes Act of 1887 was signed by President Grover Cleveland. This act allotted land from Indigenous communities to individual ownership. Only those who accepted the allotment would be allowed to become US citizens,
after showing themselves to have "adopted the habits of civilized life." [1] After the allotment, surplus land was then eligible for sale, including to settlers. As a consequence, Indigenous nations lost 90 million acres of land from a previously held 150 million acres.

Covid-19 continues to ravage the US, and it is clear that those in power are unwilling to take the measures necessary to save lives. As numbers spike and Covid-19 intersects with an oncoming flu season, states are looking to reopen in greater capacity, all in the name of profits.
The Trump administration stresses ineffective “herd immunity” and blatantly says it will not attempt to control the virus. The Democrats hide behind a purposefully ineffective government apparatus, promising “relief bills” instead of taking action.

Saddled with the Pinochet constitution for half a century, the upheaval in Chile has born fruit in a referendum. Rejecting the Chicago School and imperial meddlers, the people of Chile demand self-determination and socialism.
The United States’ insatiable hunger for dominance echoes through history, for even as Chile breaks their shackles from the past, the US seeks to suppress the self-determination of nations on the other side of the world.
