‘Young people living with debilitating symptoms caused by long Covid feel abandoned. Kaylee, 17, a once promising gymnast, developed the virus on her 12th birthday & experiences dizziness & shortness of breath, causing her to miss school & give up the sport she loves’. Image “Two million people in the UK have long Covid, according to the Office for National Statistics”.

Estimates vary.

According to another survey published recently by the BBC, it may be 1 in 10 people (or more) in the U.K. with long Covid.

Covid-19: is there a gagging order?

“Covid-19 continues to have a significant impact on health and the economy, but questions to political leaders are met with a wall of silence”

Brilliant NEW article by @s0f0nisba

centralbylines.co.uk/news/health/co…
“Covid-19 has two walls. The Memorial Wall for those killed by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, and the ‘wall of silence’ when questions are asked. Though #Covid19 regularly trends on social media in posts by the ‘Covid-aware’ – researchers in the field, medics who see the impact…”

Was out & about in a local town earlier & had an interesting conversation with a couple of people I didn’t know.

Short 🧵

One mentioned a “cold” she’d got over a week or so ago & she said she’d heard “rumours” that “covid is on the rise again”, her daughter had sent her… …a video about it. The other person asked her if it was a local outbreak, she said she didn’t know.

I piped up & said I thought it was national outbreak rather than just local. So they asked me how I knew and I said the info is on social media if you look for it.

So the…

What damage did the pandemic do to our children asks #r4today

“Very little direct damage from Covid” says @JustinOnWeb

Really Justin? Would you like to justify that statement? Also the pandemic is ongoing! Image Children suffered “very little direct damage from Covid” says @JustinOnWeb

This is what the BBC are doing. The recent article by @NickTriggle entitled ‘Why are we so ill?’ didn’t even mention COVID-19 or long Covid as a reason for all the sickness we’re seeing, despite the fact that we’re still in a pandemic and covid is still causing long Covid.

Seems appropriate to repost this thread today.

The Government don’t encourage people to test for covid. They reduce testing.

They stopped reporting the long covid numbers a year ago. They want you to think covid isn’t an issue.

They’re hiding it with the help of the @UKHSA Meanwhile….

This is the Daily Mail’s take on the record levels of people who aren’t working because of long-term illness. Basically they’re saying they’re work-shy🙄

Horrendous as their take is, why is the mainstream ignoring the main reason for all this illness?

The pandemic.

@doctor_oxford @GraziaUK @gabyhinsliff @officalITV @ITVX Your daily reminder we’re still in a pandemic.

Covid is still rampant and it’s still killing and disabling people.

Yet we still have no protections in schools. Very little testing or infection control in healthcare. And a much reduced Covid booster offer. @doctor_oxford @GraziaUK @gabyhinsliff @officalITV @ITVX “After Covid” 🤔 Image

Here’s a scandal that should be the subject of a tv drama.

The Government & the rest of the establishment covering up the dangers of covid infection.

For example excess deaths & long covid.
This is not by accident, it’s by design through reduced testing & data.

Why can’t the @UKHSA say wear a mask?

Why can’t the U.K. offer Covid boosters to all like the US, Canada, France & other countries?

Why doesn’t the @UKHSA warn about the risks of long Covid?

Why isn’t Tory policy on Covid being challenged *now* by journalists?

“The media are almost completely silent…” Zoutman said of the disappearance of COVID-19 from the headlines in the fourth year of the pandemic.

“We are missing a huge opportunity to protect our loved ones, our children, our elderly, our vulnerable..”

A reminder from the @WHO to governments *not* to dismantle Covid surveillance.

The U.K. has stopped the ONS Infection Survey & wastewater monitoring in England.

I’ll ask for the umpteenth time, why aren’t the Tories being challenged on Covid @wesstreeting?

#CovidIsntOver In case this has to be spelt out again @wesstreeting, the public do not want to get repeatedly sick, it’s not a vote winner.

Failure to monitor Covid and invest in clean air is going to be disastrous for our health, the NHS and the economy

Just to be clear, the WHO thinks we’re heading for a mass disabling event.

“An estimated one in 10 infections results in post-Covid conditions suggesting that hundreds of millions of people will need longer term care”

Maybe its partly Covid, most people don’t seem to be testing.

Maybe repeated SARSCoV2 infections are making us more susceptible to other illnesses?

Maybe @novaramedia may want to look into why we have record sickness levels in the U.K., @michaelwalkerjr?

We’re all vulnerable after we’ve been infected with SARSCoV2.

Stopping the ONS Infection Survey is not only reckless and dangerous, it’s been done on purpose to minimise Covid.

Politicians are getting away with policies of mass infection.

Where’s the opposition? “Studies corroborate the findings in recording signs of dream-enactment sleep disorder among 1/3 of patients after COVID-19 infection.Over 80% of patients with dream-enactment sleep disorder go on to develop a Parkinson's-like disease within two decades”

Hope you have a speedy recovery @StockpilingS

Covid isn’t over, infections are rising, long Covid is real.

Why are we putting up with policies of mass infection?

Repeated SARSCoV2 infections will have serious consequences for our health, our health services and the economy Thread 👇

Firstly, we’re not post-pandemic and secondly it’s Covid, long Covid and related illnesses that will be driving sickness and absences.

It still will be as Covid isn’t over.

Continuing to let SARSCoV2 rip will result in a mass disabling event which will decimate our health, our health services and the economy.

Politicians, including those with financial interests in private health care, are letting this happen.

People who are being careful not to get infected with SARS-CoV-2 are effectively being penalised by not having access to a booster.

Government policy is we all need to get infected to stop us getting…….infected. Which doesn’t work anyway.

Bonkers and dangerous. Which won’t end well…

But according to @ABridgen SARS-CoV-2 infection is “no risk” to children despite this 👇 and despite 62,000 children in the U.K. having long Covid.
