Had some upsetting #LongCovid news. Not only did covid damage my lungs, thyroid and cause issues with my heart rate, it has affected my brain as well. I don’t know if any of these issues are permanent but seeing as it’s been over two years now, it seems they may be. I had neuropsychology testing to see how covid has impacted my intelligence and the results are quite extreme. From baseline tests I ranked in the ‘Superior range of functioning’ but now parts of my general intelligence functioning have fallen into the ‘borderline impaired range’

When asked to add to this piece in ⁦@guardian⁩ Observer, I thought it would be a great opportunity to spread awareness of #LongCovid. Instead it’s pushing outdated views on #MECFS and mental illness. I am furious and will be writing to complain theguardian.com/world/2020/nov… Instead of highlighting how hard we have to fight to get heard by doctors, and the long struggle for us to get investigated, Eleanor suggests we are pushing for ‘superfluous testing’
