We are going to have to #shutdownNYC in the coming days, just like they are doing in Spain and France today. @NYCMayor @NYGovCuomo We have two options-Option 1) We can shut down in an orderly, rational way starting tomorrow morning that accounts 1/ For how to take care of our most vulnerable people, the elderly, the sick at home, children who need school meals, those on fixed income who rely on #SNAP & food pantries, first responders, essential workers, healthcare workers and their families. This will be a historic & G-d 2/

Outrageous-Even if Mr. Pumarejo did in fact close his eyes, why on earth is this an appropriate use of NYPD resources? Was he impacting anyone’s “quality of life?” Doesn’t look like it. I’m joining everyone else in urging @NYCMayor & @NYGovCuomo to abandon this misguided policy.

I don’t know whether Mr. Pumajero is without a home, but the recent criminalization of homelessness, especially in the subways, is disturbing and wrong. The reality is, people are sleeping on the street and in the subway because they feel safer than in @NYCDHS intake shelters.
