I want to reiterate my plea to @dejitoye of @TheLodt, as I've done at their previous @SMWLagos events, that these valuable conversations should be recorded in communiques for wider follow-up engagement- Dr. Niyi Ibietan #BigData #SMWLagos2020 @OIbietan @LBSNigeria @FMoCDENigeria
Having listened to fellow panellists, there's no substitute for active citizens engagement with policies, laws and regulations governing the gathering and use of their information- Dr. Niyi Ibietan #BigData #SMWLagos2020
It was strange that @NITDANigeria required immediate compliance with its #NDPR, whereas EU had a 2yr period for #GDPR. Not surprising, many organisations aren't compliant and citizens aren't aware of their rights under NDPR- @SolomonOkedara

My #fintech company often engages in verification survey of data to avoid the 'AC Panelroom syndrome' of tech developers. Experience in local markets h/ever show that traders change info if you're perceived as coming from govt-Emmanuel Agha #BigData #SMWLagos2020 @eagha @TheLodt

-- Prof. Yinka David-West (@LBSNigeria) at @TheLodt's #SMWLagos2020 panel yesterday.
@eagha @OIbietan @SolomonOkedara @dejitoye#BigData assumes data in 'gazillions' of bytes. Nigeria hasn't arrived at that scale in data Volume yet, especially in externally generated Variety. H/ever, organisations should also plan to extract Value from internal Data- Prof. David West @LBSNigeria#SMWLagos2020 @TheLodt
