There are many allegations of corruption against former & current Governors in Nig, but only few are on trial. Many others have been discharged & acquitted, except 4 who were convicted.

We reviewed the list & found only 23 cases are ongoing, albeit slowly.

Following the decision of the Supreme Court to strike out suits filed by Lagos & Ekiti States on the constitutionality of virtual court sittings as premature and speculative, we did an analysis of Lagos State High Court virtual court sessions from May to June, 2020.

#Thread The State High Court conducted 98 virtual court sessions (28 in May and 70 in June).

We observe that 95 cases are decision sessions that require little or no input from counsels, while only 3 cases had full hearing.

COURT DECLARES PENSION AND GRATUITY TO PAST GOVERNORS ILLEGAL:

The National Industrial Court has declared the pension and gratuity to past Governors and Deputy Governors null & void.

The court ruled in a suit brought against Taraba State Government by Alh. Garba Umar.

Today, with support from @TrustAfrica, we launched an unprecedented database of over 1,250 corruption cases in Nigeria.

The database provides information on ongoing and decided corruption cases, judgements and ACJA/L downloads.

Highlights of @PoliceNG_PCRRU report from January - June 2018:

The Unit resolved 750 complaints out of 884 received from which 2 officers were dismissed & 2 others demoted for corruption and extortion.

The report shows 13.29% reduction of complaints against Police. Distribution of complaints against @PoliceNG by States & Zones from January to June 2018:

▪ FCT Abuja: 109
