A story no one asked for:
My parents met on Kibbutz Metzer. Metzer is in the northern part of Israel. Metzer sits right on the Green Line just north of Baqa and close to Hadera. It's a beautiful story of resilience.
Metzer was founded in 1953 by about 130 young Argentinians (we are not Argentinian). It like most kibbutzim is founded on socialist ideological and humanistic society principles. My mother was married in the same dress as every other woman on the kibbutz. They share everything.
Let's #NeverForget that Nazi's came to power not only through violence but by leaning into white supremacy & white economic insecurity. The indoctrination & radicalization looked a lot like patriotism at first. They found community and joy in it.
Then came blame, cruelty, ridicule, isolation, theft... with little resistance or opposition.
