Mistake alert🚨🚨🚨
Are you trading with cash margin? You are losing money even before you start trading. Retweet, please

Your cash is idling as trading margin. It loses 7-10% value every year due to inflation. Pledging helps you by earning returns on your margin

Read on... If you have 10L cash in your trading account, you can earn as much as 10L*7% = 70,000 pre-tax interest on it. How? Buy G Secs, or Debt MFs such as GILT funds etc for 10L. Then pledge these to release as much as 9L margin. Your money has stopped idling. How does this help?

Here are some mistakes that every trader makes that you should avoid

A thread 🧵for traders: 1. Overtrading
This can be:
a) Too many trades
b) Too many stocks
c) Too big a size
d) Too many days of trading

Over trading is the number 1 reason why people lose money. Take a few trades, in 1 or 2 stocks, with constant bet size. And trade occasionally with breaks

Many traders fall into the trap of wanting to recover what they have lost in stock markets immediately. This is called revenge trading. Most of the time, people try to recover small losses, and in this process they end up making huge losses. How do you prevent this? Read on... Usually, it happens like this. A trader bought 100 Qty of NIFTY. NIFTY fell 50 points, and he lost 5000 Rs. To make up for this quickly, the trader buys 200 Qty of NIFTY. Now market falls another 100 points due to trend. So now he is sitting on 25,000 Rs loss.

Everyone says ULIPs and endowment plans are bad. That is not true. Here are some situations where you should consider them

1. Your bank's relationship manager took a large loan from Mafia, and the only way for him to repay is if he gets commissions from ULIPs and endowment sales 2. You REALLY love your bank's sales head. He wants to buy a luxury car with sunroof with commissions. His current CTC gets him only the one without sunroof

3. Your friend runs a loss-making fintech startup that sells ULIPs. He must show profits for an IPO to dump it on people

Anti fraud alert

Simple rule. Invest in simple products.

You want protection? Get simple term/health insurance.
You want assured return? A fixed deposit, or better a G sec MF with fixed maturity
You want long term growth? Direct Mutual funds or Index ETF

Continued... Never buy anything that mixes these. Do not go for income + growth + protection. You are getting scammed big time.

I repeat - ONLY buy products that are SUPER BASIC AND SIMPLE when it comes to your financial needs. Simple products are better.

It has been a month since I have been on Social Media. No Twitter, no Instagram, no FB (is there anyone there anyway?) etc. Also did not watch any OTT. And the effect has been quite profound for me. Here are my learnings: This started because I was in Kerala, visiting family, and in places without cell phone, Wi-Fi, etc. Unplugging completely suddenly started having marked impacts on the way I felt. As I started to feel different in a good way, I started reading on what is happening to me

I promised a series exposing trading scams. This will be on Twitter and Youtube. Here is the first installment of the series
#1 - Stealing money from clients through Illiquid options
Please retweet and spread the word. This is a dangerous scam by some people who trade for you from your Trading account. You may have given them your password. Or they may be doing it from another account.

So how does this fraud happen?

I did a regular medical checkup today and met a 70 year old doctor. He asked me what I do, I said I run a small startup in stock markets. He replied, "I don't like stock market, please do not take me wrong". I said, "Most people lost money, so I agree, it is not for all"

But then he said, "It is not about money. I have a friend who is always on this thing. From morning he starts looking at his TV and trading. Always buried in some news or tip. No time for his family or kids. Even when I visit, he just talks markets and asks me to invest"

Louise is a very dear friend of mine from Denmark. One day, she told me she is going to start working and pay taxes soon. Denmark taxes are almost 52%. I asked her if she is okay with paying so much taxes. She said,
(1/n) "Healthcare is free. There are benefits for elders, disabled, unemployed, etc. Roads are great. Society is safe. I studied till post graduation thanks to the tax payer's money. I cannot wait to go start working and contribute to this system that helped me get here."

All the new age Crypto coins are the biggest scams in the history of the world. And I think whatever we are seeing now is the tip of the iceberg. Like any story, there are heroes, villains, village idiots, and Judases in this story. Who are they? Who are the villains? The network of greedy Crypto Corporations who peddled this all over the world. They looted poor people who wanted a better life. It was used for criminal activities, money laundering, terrorism, etc. They have now disappeared to luxurious tax havens

Two of my biggest passions have been #poker and #trading. Trading was my first job since 2009. The less known fact - I played poker 500+ nights. There are many similarities between the two. Here is a thread about the parallels to help your trading and poker

A thread🧵 1. Keep folding cards. Do not play average cards for too much money. Card selection is everything. Especially true if you are a beginner.

Similarly, in trading, do not do many trades. Be selective. Trade only when you have a good trade idea with many strong reasons

Asked a popular Finance influencer for a collab. He or she quoted 12L+GST for 1 Insta Reel + 1 Insta Story + 1 Youtube Short. Apparently other Fintech brands pay so much for collab.

I want to smoke the same thing they are all smoking Whoa. This Tweet got more engagement than I expected. So I thought I will clarify a few things, and share a few learnings as a thread 🧵

1. The influencer we approached a personal finance person. He or she was not from the options space, and so did not have an options audience

How to pretend to be a woman on Twitter? Many men have this question. I sympathise. They don’t know how to act like one. They come from environments without women - like engineering colleges. Most engineering students have not seen women except from 20 metres away.

In Kerala, lotteries are very popular. There is a particular lottery called Bhutan Bumper. The way it works is, if the last number of your lottery matches the lucky number, you get ten times the price of the lottery. So the payoff is ten times the bet.

A thread 🧵: Gafoor, aka Gafoorkka is a lottery-buying expert. He has this gut feelz he gets when he sees the right number. His gut feelz is famous among his friends and family. So one day, he went to his friend Dasan and told him about his magic gut feelz. The scheme is this:

Many option scammers complain that I only target trading related malpractices, and that I should stop targeting them alone.

Chalo bois, I am going to make your day today. Please retweet for maximum awareness: A thread about a new scam: 🧵 Step 1: An email comes with the CEO's name, but a different email ID. Most people see the name but not the email ID, making the scam easy. It reads: "I am busy right now, unable to use my phone or PC, are you free to do a small task"

Once the teammate replies comes step 2

My top 5 Most stressful trades in my 12-year trading career. A thread🧵:

5. My first trade, 2009. Boss gave me 10 Crores, asked me to do whatever I want. And left. Lost 1 L that day, thought I was getting fired. Boss came back and asked "Stoploss nahi daala naa?" with a smirk 4. My first big trade for a client, 2010. 137 Million Dollars. Hands were shaking. The only reassurance I got from my then boss was - "What is the worst that can happen?"

I come from lower middle-class: Zero parental income, no house, etc. I understand how lower middle-class lives. Later on in life, I got lucky to see some of rich people and their lifestyle.
