Disagree. The theory behind Biden's nom was that his brand of centrism would win over a bunch of Republicans, but a higher percentage of Republicans voted for Trump in 2020 than in 2016. It's great that Biden will pull this off, but we must learn the right lessons from this race.

It's unfair to Warren, Sanders, Harris, etc. to make this conclusion. Biden is the only candidate who could've won the election this exact way, but there were other paths to defeating Trump. Also possible that other candidates would've won by a bigger margin, not eked out a W.

Over the past decade, Elizabeth Warren became a hero to me and helped shape my political point of view. I sincerely feel the best way to honor what she stands for is by supporting the remaining candidate who most closely resembles her values, which is by far Bernie Sanders. Yesterday, Warren advised us to "choose to fight only righteous fights." For me, lining up behind Biden’s return to the status quo does not feel like a righteous fight. We must look forward not back. Bernie can help create “big, structural change.”

#PresidentWarren is trending because despite her being 3rd in delegates, 3rd in most national polls and 2nd in endorsements, the media acts as if she doesn't exist. So her supporters are dealing with this blackout by making sure voters know she's still here and still kicking ass. Typical election punditry right now:

Who will excite people AND work well with the party to help take back Senate majority? Elizabeth Warren. She spent the last decade lifting up Democratic candidates for the Senate, especially women ones. Examples:

Democratic voters are overestimating Trump's electability while underestimating the mess he left to clean up and how difficult dealing with the GOP will be for a Dem POTUS. This is extremely shortsighted and undervalues who has the best plan to fix corruption, outduel McConnell. Unless the Dem nominee faceplants or allows all of Trump's weaknesses to be neutralized, voting for him is untenable to too many folks for him to win. He has a record now and won't get to run against historically high negatives again. Plus, people are exhausted from his bullshit.

Paul Ryan was a so-called deficit hawk who helped Trump double the deficit, from $438 billion to $1 trillion.

There are quite a few Democratic voters who think, "I don't like big money in politics, but if Dems don't take it, we lose." Except it's not true. Plenty of 2018 House candidates proved you can win grassroots style. Bernie and Warren are outraising rivals without big-donor cash.

A lot of Democratic voters want to pick a moderate nominee who is promising to stop the fighting in DC, resume bipartisanship and move us past gridlock. I get the instinct, fighting wears you down, but this is a dangerous strategy that will only make the GOP stronger. Here's why: Republicans blocked Obama's agenda, stole a Supreme Court seat and wouldn't help Dems do anything about Russian election interference. Were they punished? No. They were rewarded with the presidency, two SCOTUS seats, the Senate & tax cuts. The strategy worked. Why change now?

Warren is the candidate who understands what we're up against in the Senate. Biden and Buttigieg compromise too much. McConnell will destroy them. Sanders doesn't want to nuke the filibuster or pack SCOTUS, seems to think a movement will force centrist Dems to instantly back M4A. Biden is especially out to lunch here. He seems to be stuck in what he considers the good old days of the chamber. Where it was a bunch of white dudes who disagreed on very little (even segregationists were welcome!) and what really mattered was keeping your cozy job for decades.

When Elizabeth Warren talks to young girls she says she's "running for president because that's what girls do."

Please don't dismiss the difference. Presidents should also be role models. This isn't really about Biden. Or even Trump. It's about choosing a better future than our past. We were all taught that toxic masculinity was OK and to uphold the patriarchy. Building a more inclusive, respectful version of our country is way past due. That starts at the top.
