The top 1% possesses 10x more wealth than the bottom 50% of Americans. Economic fairness has become an afterthought in a society that weirdly worships billionaires. We need a wealth tax. The top .01% has 4x more wealth than the bottom 50% of Americans. Wealth inequality is destroying this country and should be the number one issue. The reason it isn’t framed that way is because most of our politicians are bought and depend on big donors to stay in office.

Republicans have only won one popular vote in the last 34 years. Democratic Senators represent 40 million more voters than Republican Senators. Doesn’t matter. We have 6 conservative Supreme Court monarchs who call all the shots. This is not what functional democracy looks like. This is also why it’s not helpful for elected Democrats to tell us to just go vote. I’ve voted for every Democratic nominee since Gore. A lot of effing good that’s done!

Republicans obsess over stuff like Dr. Suess and Mr. Potato Head to keep voters distracted. They don’t want to talk about their policies, which created an economy where billionaires paid lower tax rates than the working class for the first time in US history. Republicans don’t want to talk about how they botched our response to covid. Or the racial wealth gap. Or education lagging. Or costly forever wars. Or climate change worsening. Or police brutality. Or infrastructure crumbling. Or the failed war on drugs. Or voter suppression...

Texas hates the federal government so much it has its own outdated power grid. No other state in the country has been quite this stubborn, stupid and self-destructive about energy policy. This crisis is brought to you by deregulation. Resisting federal help got Texas Into this mess, but Texas Republicans sure didn’t have a problem asking for federal help once the shit hit the fan.

yeah sex is cool but have you ever watched Fox News go through the five stages of grief after a Republican loses a presidential election?

Disagree. The theory behind Biden's nom was that his brand of centrism would win over a bunch of Republicans, but a higher percentage of Republicans voted for Trump in 2020 than in 2016. It's great that Biden will pull this off, but we must learn the right lessons from this race. It's unfair to Warren, Sanders, Harris, etc. to make this conclusion. Biden is the only candidate who could've won the election this exact way, but there were other paths to defeating Trump. Also possible that other candidates would've won by a bigger margin, not eked out a W.

If Texas Democrats flip the state legislature this November, that means Republicans don’t get to draw gerrymandered maps like this anymore. #TurnTexasBlue The reason #TX35 was drawn this way was to pack as many people of color, young & progressive voters into one district as possible to dilute their votes so the GOP wins more Congressional seats. Multiple courts deemed it discriminatory & unconstitutional. But SCOTUS upheld it. 😡

Over the past decade, Elizabeth Warren became a hero to me and helped shape my political point of view. I sincerely feel the best way to honor what she stands for is by supporting the remaining candidate who most closely resembles her values, which is by far Bernie Sanders. Yesterday, Warren advised us to "choose to fight only righteous fights." For me, lining up behind Biden’s return to the status quo does not feel like a righteous fight. We must look forward not back. Bernie can help create “big, structural change.”

And for their next trick... corporate media will make Elizabeth Warren completely vanish.

Voila! "Where is Warren" is trending. Let's blow this shit up so everyone knows exactly what's happening. Liz is being erased.

#PresidentWarren is trending because despite her being 3rd in delegates, 3rd in most national polls and 2nd in endorsements, the media acts as if she doesn't exist. So her supporters are dealing with this blackout by making sure voters know she's still here and still kicking ass. Typical election punditry right now:

"Sanders leads the pack with Buttigieg close behind, THIRD DOESN'T MATTER because Klobuchar is finally surging after we begged you to make it happen, Biden is fading and OMG Bloomberg I love saying Bloomberg, it really rolls off the tongue."

Bloomberg backed Scott Brown in 2012.

Bloomberg gave $250K to Lindsey Graham's PAC in 2014.

Bloomberg spent $12M helping Pat Toomey in 2016.

Bloomberg has a history of supporting GOP Senators. He can't be counted on to help Democrats flip the Senate blue. This is one of the most crucial aspects of picking a Dem nominee. Who will excite people AND work well with the party to help take back Senate majority? Elizabeth Warren. She spent the last decade lifting up Democratic candidates for the Senate, especially women ones. Examples:

Democratic voters are overestimating Trump's electability while underestimating the mess he left to clean up and how difficult dealing with the GOP will be for a Dem POTUS. This is extremely shortsighted and undervalues who has the best plan to fix corruption, outduel McConnell. Unless the Dem nominee faceplants or allows all of Trump's weaknesses to be neutralized, voting for him is untenable to too many folks for him to win. He has a record now and won't get to run against historically high negatives again. Plus, people are exhausted from his bullshit.

Dennis Hastert is a pedophile and the highest-ranking elected official in American history to have served a prison sentence. Paul Ryan was a so-called deficit hawk who helped Trump double the deficit, from $438 billion to $1 trillion.

It's not only about defeating Trump. It's about changing a corrupt system that allowed Trump to happen. If you sell access/leverage to the 1%, that compromises your presidency. Then little change occurs and the system gives us another Bush or Trump type. Time to break the cycle. There are quite a few Democratic voters who think, "I don't like big money in politics, but if Dems don't take it, we lose." Except it's not true. Plenty of 2018 House candidates proved you can win grassroots style. Bernie and Warren are outraising rivals without big-donor cash.

IMPORTANT: There’s a lot of negativity out there recently. Let's spend tonight talking about why Elizabeth Warren is the best candidate for president.

Tweet out the reasons you support Elizabeth along with the #WinWithWarren hashtag. Let's get it trending! Warren is a leader. She was the first candidate to call for impeachment and the first to commit to no big-donor money or private fundraisers. #WinWithWarren

A lot of Democratic voters want to pick a moderate nominee who is promising to stop the fighting in DC, resume bipartisanship and move us past gridlock. I get the instinct, fighting wears you down, but this is a dangerous strategy that will only make the GOP stronger. Here's why: Republicans blocked Obama's agenda, stole a Supreme Court seat and wouldn't help Dems do anything about Russian election interference. Were they punished? No. They were rewarded with the presidency, two SCOTUS seats, the Senate & tax cuts. The strategy worked. Why change now?

Warren is the candidate who understands what we're up against in the Senate. Biden and Buttigieg compromise too much. McConnell will destroy them. Sanders doesn't want to nuke the filibuster or pack SCOTUS, seems to think a movement will force centrist Dems to instantly back M4A. Biden is especially out to lunch here. He seems to be stuck in what he considers the good old days of the chamber. Where it was a bunch of white dudes who disagreed on very little (even segregationists were welcome!) and what really mattered was keeping your cozy job for decades.

When Joe Biden talks to young girls he mentions their looks and makes inappropriate jokes.

When Elizabeth Warren talks to young girls she says she's "running for president because that's what girls do."

Please don't dismiss the difference. Presidents should also be role models. This isn't really about Biden. Or even Trump. It's about choosing a better future than our past. We were all taught that toxic masculinity was OK and to uphold the patriarchy. Building a more inclusive, respectful version of our country is way past due. That starts at the top.

@realDonaldTrump Poor management? Democratic leadership in California turned a $27B deficit caused by a Republican governor into a $9B surplus. Try again. @realDonaldTrump You might be thinking of red states like Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Oklahoma, etc. where tax cuts for the wealthy have recently caused carnage.
