🚨whoop whoop! thread alert!🚨

What will it take for #energystorage to replace fossil fuels?

A thread on @FormEnergyInc's recent white paper.

Here's a link to a short summary blog (full paper linked at the bottom). Read on for context and a summary!

🚨 Thread on rooftop solar & net metering! 🚨

This past week @mitenergy published a podcast in which we discuss the economics of rooftop solar, and, in particular, issues related to equity, net metering, & rooftop PV.

See the podcast below, & check out this thread for more! Before I dive in, I want to note that many of the findings in this thread are early & stem from my PhD dissertation. I'm hoping that the #EnergyTwitter hivemind will provide feedback to improve the work. Please don't hesitate to *constructively* criticize. That's why I'm here!

So, I binge-watched @HBO's #Chernobyl this weekend, and I have a few thoughts about nuclear (surprise!).

First off, I strongly recommend watching it. It is thrilling and terrifying, well acted and shot, and overall an excellent miniseries.

Short thread!

Watching the horrific nature of the accident and its aftermath, it doesn't take much imagination to see why people who lived through the event still have an innate fear of nuclear power.

Of course the show is dramatized, but its easy to appreciate the fear avg citizens felt

I had the displeasure of seeing an energy “futurist” speak at a conference this past weekend, and I have some thoughts. Ranty thread ensues. 1/ cc @joshdr83 @JesseJenkins My primary beef is that futurists rely on anti-fact technobabble as their source of authority. The linchpin of their arguments? “The experts always get it wrong.” 2/
