this time, 7 years ago, the family was at Jaslok Hospital.
My dad was in ICU. He had been admitted for plasma transfusion to deal with Myasthenia gravis
He was supposed to be discharged that Tuesday - but he never came home.

He had many complications - COPD, Diabetes, Myasthenia Gravis, - but he finally passed away due to sepsis.
The ICU was the filthiest i had ever seen in my life.
It allowed people to walk in with shoes, with mobiles, with laptop bags (2)

My househelp married out of caste. She comes from the higher caste.
Her inlaws haven't 'accepted' her as yet. She says it is for that reason.
She and her husband have a 24 year old son, and a 22 year old daughter.

She is currently learning sewing to make sure that she moves up economically.
