I’m no Cardiologist, but even I picked up some learning points after being on the inpt heart failure service for the past 5 wks 🤷♀️🫀 - A series of “🦪 📿” on a variety of heart failure topics for the internist.
First one is on GDMT in HFpEF! #MedTwitter#CardioTwitter1/ I was always unsure about GDMT in HFpEF, which I later learned was b/c…there really isn’t great GDMT for HFpEF
Best GDMT for HFpEF = SGLTi2. Only med class w/ 2a level rec from AHA. Found to have decreased HF -🏥zations, but no sig mortality benefit). (EMPEROR-Preserved)

One study suggests low doses of QTc prolonging meds are unlikely to cause TdP in your avg patient, but would be careful if QTc > 500 or patient/drug is higher risk.
