Ontario is reporting 76 cases of #COVID19. Due to an issue with iPHIS, updated numbers are not available from 11 PHUs. These 11 units reported a total of eight cases yesterday and while not a direct proxy for today it’s an indication of how many cases may be under-reported.
This glitch is another reminder of why it’s so important that we replace the outdated iPHIS with our custom-built #COVID19 system. We’re making great progress: in fact, all 11 impacted units are transitioning to the new system today, at which point 31 of 34 PHUs will be using it.

After a full week of reporting fewer than 100 daily cases, today Ontario is reporting 115 cases of #COVID19. While a slight uptick and an end to our steak, we shouldn’t lose sight of the fact that thanks to your efforts the trend in the province remains downward.
Indeed, locally 28 of Ontario’s 34 public health units are still reporting five or fewer cases, with 18 of them reporting no new cases. Yesterday, the province processed 22,275 #COVID19 tests as we continue to lead the country in daily testing.

Today marks two years since our government was sworn in. It’s been an honour and a privilege to serve as Deputy Premier and Minister of Health as we've broken down long-standing silos to meaningfully improve the care you receive and help end hallway health care.
As we’ve responded to #COVID19, our plan has proven to significantly enhance health system responsiveness and has helped to integrate the care you receive. Looking back to 2018, here's some what we’ve accomplished working alongside our frontline partners:

Today, Ontario is reporting a slight uptick in our numbers, with 206 new cases of #COVID19 or a 0.6% increase. While this is the first time the province is reporting a daily new case count above 200 in six days, we shouldn’t draw too many conclusions from one day’s data.
In fact, with 218 more resolved, we continue to see a persistent decline in active cases, with 12 fewer today and over 1,500 fewer active cases in the province as compared to early last week. Yesterday, Ontario processed a new record number of tests in a single day: 27,387.
