85 years ago today, Japan began a 6-week massacre of over 20,000 Chinese civilians, alongside mass rape, arson and looting, marking one of the worst atrocities in history
"Massacre contests" were held amongst Japanese soldiers, who slaughtered en masse, in ways beyond belief
From door to door, Japanese soldiers searched for women (including children and elderly) to rape and often killed them immediately after through mutilation - by penetrating vaginas with bayonets, long sticks of bamboo, or other objects
