A #sciart #scicomm thread on phenotypes of w1118 mutants. Today being 11-18 (American way of writing date) is the day w1118 was isolated. Am excited to share some watercolour paintings I did this weekend to celebrate today as FlyDay. Wait for the cake that should happen this PM. Celebrating #FlyDay to commemorate the isolation of w1118 mutant by Prof Robert Lewis while in Rubin lab. The 1st white (W) eyed mutant was isolated in Morgan lab (see inset for 1st sentence of his paper) which contributed significantly to the chromosomal theory of inheritance.
