Here are some resources I shared with my students related to the new coronavirus vaccines. First, a little info: Both are mRNA vaccines. What does that mean? Rather than injecting an antigen, these vaccines inject mRNA (surrounded by a lipid shell) into the body. The body then translates the mRNA, making the spike protein that is on the surface of the coronavirus.

A partial list of things I have learned while teaching this semester (to be continued as time allows): 1) if I forget to lock the door, Kid3 *will* join my lecture or office hours, and will most likely ask questions. 2) The iClicker app shows students whatever screen the app is open in when you open the question, so it's suboptimal if that screen also has the answers to the clicker question.

I'm planning on carefully reading the new working paper on #mentalhealth of grad students in 8 top econ departments (including #UMich's) this afternoon. I'm debating whether to tweet while I read. I'm going to tweet them in this thread. These are all from the Barreira et al. working paper scholar.harvard.edu/files/bolotnyy…

At a #UMich Rackham Grad School training on best practices for graduate admissions, focused on diversity & excellence in grad admissions. Sitting next to @twittkopp. @sbarolo decided to sit at another table. (I guess that's where the cool kids are?)
