EKITI’s INDEPENDENT POWER PLANT (IPP) KICKS OFF WITH TEST RUN

The Ekiti State IPP has commenced operations with a successful test run. The IPP has been tested successfully for 2 weeks, distributing 700 kW out of the total 3.5 megawatt capacity, leaving room for expansion. The dear departed are reported to have been industrious family men and community leaders who were popular and well loved by the community. They were identified as Toyin Akeju a.k.a. Jisoro, and Mr. Yusuf Onoche a.k.a. Baba Owala. They did not deserve the fate that befell them.

INVESTMENT UPDATE: Ikun Dairy Farm, which is now fully operational for livestock/milk production following a $5m investment by Promasidor, has procured 250 new cows from Texas to add to the existing ones. 10,000 litres of milk is expected to be produced in the next 18-24 months. Ikun Dairy Farm, which is now fully operational for livestock and milk production following a $5 million investment by Promasidor, has increased its total cows to 173. REVIEWED EKITI STATE DIRECTIVES ON #COVID19

Commencing from June 1, 2020, Ekiti people will now be able to go about their daily activities from Monday to Friday, 6am to 8pm in the evening.

The dusk to dawn curfew will daily resume at 8pm till 5: 59 am of the following morning. Ekiti State public officers on Grade Level 8 and above are to resume for duty from June 1, 2020, while those on Level 7 and below are to remain at home for now.

In response to the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the oil price fiscal shock, the Ekiti State Executive Council has approved a 27% reduction in the 2020 Budget from N124,724,869,335.95 to N91,128,996,482.01.

Below are the highlights: ▪️N66,557,958,763 billion, representing 62% of the budget is for recurrent expenditure, while N34,571,037,719.01 billion, representing 38% is for capital expenditure.

▪️Retainment of Salaries and pensions at 100%.

▪️Reduction of the overheads for 2020 by 50%.

The current lockdown directive which ends today Monday April 27th is hereby extended for another six (6) days until 23:59 hours on Sunday May 3rd 2020.
