Nigeria is in trouble!

The 2018 'Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index', which x-rays and ranks what governments are doing to tackle the gap between the rich and the poor, ranks Nigeria 157.

With this, Nigeria is at the bottom of the ranking.

THREAD! Majority are finding it difficult today to make ends meet because Nigeria's wealth is controlled by a few.

Remember that the 2017 Oxfam et al report on the 'Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index' says that the wealth of just 5 Nigerians can end extreme poverty in Nigeria.

I am happy that you began your answer with 'IF'. Did RMAFC approve ALL their earnings? I doubt.

Secondly, even if it is approved by the RMAFC, it does not automatically make it right: a thing may be legally okay but morally/ethically questionable. Can RMAFC, for eg, decide to allocate the entire recurrent in a budget as the senators' take home pay?

Of course, no.

The developmental impact of political office holders is very important.

It is unconscionable that our legislators' pay is about 50 times 🇳🇬's GDP per capita.

The 'power' of incumbency includes the power to generate a WAEC result.

A Nigerian president is powerful.

Your reasoning is horribly woolly & anything but logical for these four reasons:

1. It was off point because my tweet didn't necessitate the illogical jump that you made.

2. You didn't address the issue of serious human right violation by your principal which I pointed out ... 3. How many APC chieftains had never been PDP members?

4. #2019 election is about respecting one's conscience: I don't campaign for a pol. party & a candidate under whose nepotistic watch many lives have been wasted, millions thrown into unemployment & hardship increased ....

Belief in some quarters:

Buhari's camp is afraid that the turn out of voters in the SE in 2019 will be as huge as in 2011.

They fear that this will lead to his defeat (he is too unpopular in the region)

He frees Kanu who demands the boycott of election in the SE.

Desperate!

The era of Seiyefa, appointed by Osibanjo as Acting DG of DSS in August, ends.

#PMB rather prefers Yusuf Magaji Bichi.

This new appointment appears to lend credence to the belief that certain ethnic 'blood' is required for certain security positions in this era of 97% v 5%.

What did the Owerri women do?

They asked about the whereabout of Nnamdi Kanu!

Those who deserve arrest are #PMB who has some explanations to make about the whereabout of Nnamdi Kanu, the police that #PMB uses & #Okorocha on whose silence the women are being incarcerated. Nobody has seen Nnamdi Kanu.

According to art. 7 (1) of the Rome Statute of d International Criminal Court, enforced disappearance of persons can constitute 'crimes against humanity'.

Between #PMB, #Okorocha, the police & the arrested #Owerri women, who then deserves arrest?

Insincerity, deceit, lies & impunity characterise governance in the .@OfficialAPCNg-led govt. of Oyo State.

How do you describe an Oyo govt that claimed that the demolition of Fresh FM followed due process only for the same govt to express shock at reading about the demolition? To the argument that demolishing Fresh FM was wrong bc it is an employer of labour, Gov Ajimobi of Oyo says, according to @PremiumTimesng, 'are armed robbers not employers of labour too? Should we now say bc [they] employ people, they should continue to rob ...?”

Incorrigible?

The death trap called 'Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu'.

@vanguardngrnews shows that:

1. A pilot from Air Peace in a flight from Abuja to Enugu announced that the potholes and cracks in the runway of the airport could cause accident. 2. The same pilot from Air Peace invited passengers on board with some influence to get the authorities to forstall accident at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, by resurfacing the run way.

Nobody doubts that poverty can be found in every part of Nigeria, but the truth is that it is SERIOUSLY PERVASIVE in a region of the country, the north.

Check this article 'Poverty in Northern Nigeria' from Asian Journal of Humanities & Social Studies, according to the article: 1.'Each time poverty is mentioned in Nigeria, everybody’s mind readily moves to the Northern part of the country where there is high level of illiteracy and child destitution.'
2. The northern states account for the large population of
the citizens living in poverty in Nigeria.

It is true that I am not the spokesperson of UN's Human Rights Council, but I AM A SUPPORTER of any group that advances human rights in any way. This is because of my strong belief in the dignity of the human person.

THREAD Also, my CATHOLIC and CHRISTIAN belief that the human person is made in the image and the likeness of God (according to the Book of Genesis) convinces me that respecting Human Rights is a matter of conscience and an exercise in faith. .../2

Just read Philip Efiong's small work, Integration: True or False.

Efiong was a General in the #Biafra army & was second to Ojukwu in Biafra's leadership hierarchy.

I found certain information in the work revealing, like Gowon's reply to Efiong's memo to him.

[Thread] After Biafra’s ‘surrender’, Efiong requested that undamaged airports in #Biafra be used for daylight & night flights for bringing in food & other supplies into Biafra.

He made d request to Gowon bc the humanitarian condition during d tail end of the war & after was catastrophic.
