This is what the British Army’s Twitter account currently looks like…it appears it has been compromised.

Not a good look. And while I’m sure plenty of folks will chuckle, there are clearly questions to be asked as to how on earth this could happen.

What if it wasn’t a group promoting NFTs that took over the account? What if it was a group with more malign intent?

Today's @thesundaytimes Inside No 10 piece, via @ShippersUnbound, is full of the latest headlines for the upcoming Integrated Review. Let's take a look while you eat your Sunday morning cornflakes....

thetimes.co.uk/article/9m-bor… Disclaimer - there'll probably be another of these tweets from @DefenceHQPress this weekend. Indeed, while none of this is yet actually confirmed on the record, I'd say that this close to the IR's publication, the below looks pretty darn likely.

BREAKING: @reddit says the post sharing leaked US-UK trade documents used by Jeremy Corbyn was part of a co-ordinated campaign from Russia.

"We believe this was part of a campaign that has been reported as originating from Russia"

reddit.com/r/redditsecuri… @reddit Reddit says it is banning 61 different accounts under its vote manipulation policies.

Without stating the blindingly obvious, this is quite a big deal....

NEW: Royal Air Force Typhoon jets have been launched twice in the past two days to intercept Russian military aircraft "flying close to Estonian airspace".

It's the 15th and 16th scramble since the RAF took over #NATO Air Policing in May. Yesterday they were initially launched to intercept a Russian Antonov AN-26 "Curl" transport aircraft.

THREAD: we need to monitor the situation in Kashmir.

#KashmirTroopBoost is trending in both India and Pakistan.

I'm going to start this thread in case things escalate. The Foreign Office updated their travel advice to the region yesterday (gov.uk/foreign-travel…). Whilst the usual suspects have been keeping up with the situation (@ELINTNews @IntelCrab etc), western media have so far ignored it (as they did in the February 2019 tensions).

So, time for an update: what do you need to know?

THREAD - this one is worth your time.

Last Friday, the British-flagged Stena Impero was seized in Omani territorial waters by Iranian forces.

The ship remains impounded at the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas (just north of the Strait). Then Foreign Secretary @Jeremy_Hunt said earlier this week "under international law, Iran had no right to obstruct the ship’s passage, let alone board her. It was therefore an act of state piracy"

#OTD in 1982, Argentina began Operation Rosario and invaded the Falkland Islands.

The infamous telex conversation between Falklands and London
FK: We have lots of new friends
LON: What about invasion rumours
FK: Those are the friends I was meaning

The Falklands War had begun Over the next few months I’ll (attempt to....) recount the 1982 conflict as best as I can.

Expect pictures, notable newspaper headlines, and famous quotes. Any particular areas of interest/feedback will be appreciated

Okay lets do an India/Pakistan update

Pakistan have shot down 2 Indian jets, and have closed all airspace to commercial flights.

The escalation came a one day after the Indian Air Force bombed a "terrorist training camp" inside Pakistan. Pakistan’s PM @ImranKhanPTI currently addressing the nation:

"We didn't take action earlier without assessing our own damage from Indian airstrikes...Two Indian MiGs that entered Pakistani airspace today after our retaliation were shot down. But where do we go from here?"
