Oh hi there #Guelph, I am back after a week off. I am still catching up on things, but it is safe to say that #COVID19 cases are beginning to ramp back up again.

Here's a look at where things have shifted since I left.

🧵(1/8) According to @WDGPublicHealth, there have been 134 new diagnoses between Guelph, Wellington and Dufferin since Aug. 20.

The 7-day average has more than doubled in that time, going from ~6.5 Aug. 20 to ~13.6 Aug. 29.

NEW: Guelph police used Clearview AI, a facial recognition tool, as part of an investigation last year.

The AI tool is under investigation for potentially collecting & using personal info w/o consent, including billions of social media images. (1/7)
