I call this thread "I miss the old CDC." 🧵

There was a time when public health was a thing. There was a time when an agency could use scientific facts and save lives before COVID made public health inconvenient for capitalism.

I think this is from the 90s... It's true! Facial hair can ruin a respirator's seal! Stick that in your pipe and shove it, T. Ryan Gregory!

There is someone who I used to follow up until yesterday, but I blocked her and kicked her out of my private COVID cautious group.

RTing praise for the "Ontario Autism Collation" is a 'three strikes, you're out' move. A thread... Us #ActuallyAutistic people have been very, very loud on Twitter and elsewhere on the internet about how ABA ("applied behavioral analysis") is torture and it causes PTSD. It's literally "gay conversion therapy" for autistic kids...

We must stop the idea that COVID avoidance is only for people with visible disabilities.

A disabled person recently tweeted "YOU can safely access public spaces, but I can't!"

No! Those ableds aren't maskless because it's supposedly safe for them... They're maskless because they don't give AF, they value conformity, they're trapped in groupthink, etc.

COVID harms EVERYONE. We're all vulnerable. By implying that abled people are safe maskless, you're reaffirming the Great Barrington Declaration...

Hey COVID cautious folks.

It's getting really trauma-inducing to be someone in apparent good physical health fighting hard to make sure I'm never infected...

Meanwhile you're constantly implying that avoiding COVID is just for the "vulnerable"... 1. *EVERYONE* is harmed by COVID!

2. COVID causes brain damage in *everyone*, even people who were in apparent perfect health before infection.

3. Same goes for immune damage, cancer, strokes, etc...

Even Mina's "getting colds in inevitable" is weak.

My #DavosSafe lifestyle (a combination of my ability to question authority and my fortunate circumstances) means I haven't even had a COLD in over three years.

As long as I can control my life, I may never have a cold again. Unfortunately, because the masses are delighted to go around spreading a #kovid plague that's destroying themselves, I have to wear top quality biohazard level three PPE when I leave my apartment, even in the hallways and common areas of my building.

This is an example of important activism that must be done. I called.

The other important action is to be ready to sue hospitals and medical facilities. Here's how to do that, please RT for visibility... 🧵
#COVID19 My partner is scheduled to have knee surgery in a private clinic in Toronto in May.

I am preparing for the likelihood that he will get infected with COVID. Frankly if I was him, I'd skip the surgery.

But he's having the surgery, so I'm planning to sue...

I was feeling pretty hopeless. Then I decided to get more active with @TheWHN.

The raging SARS-CoV-2 pandemic is destroying humanity. But I want to be one of the humans who fights to stop it... #COVIDisAirborne A few years from now when people realize how wrong they were to let the oligarchs inflict them with a level three biohazard for the sake of billionaire profit...

Don't you want to be on the right side of history? In time, most people realized that climate change is a disaster...

I have unfollowed most of the people I used to follow in #infosec and pretty much all of the musicians I used to follow, from Hall and Oates to Jamiroquai to Siouxsie and the Banshees.

Every world tour and every maskless convention selfie is a betrayal... #CovidIsNotOver 🧵 I'm finally in a point in my life where I can afford overpriced concert tickets and some travel if it's something that's really a priority to me.

But fuck no. The musicians I genuinely used to love now will never see a dime out of me ever again...

CO2 monitoring, ventilation, and HEPA/CR boxes are absolutely necessary.

But a low CO2 rating doesn't make going maskless in a public space safe.

STFU with your "risk assessments." Just wear a respirator in all public spaces. (Outdoor crowds, too.)
#CovidIsNotOver Hero in Disney cartoon, sitting smugly with dozens of swords That's like saying airbags, seatbelts, insurance, and traffic lights make drunk driving safe.

NO, THEY DO NOT!

Hazel McCallion is dead. I grew up in Mississauga, roughly between 1986-2000. My late father was on the library board and he was the first recipient of the Mississauga Arts Award in writing.

I met her once.

I have thoughts... 🧵 I don't have to look this up. No one in North America has been mayor of a city for longer than Hazel McCallion. Her stint as mayor of Mississauga was at least 25-30 years long.

But she wasn't a great mayor, just a mayor in a very lucky situation...

Absolutely. And XBB.1.5 Kraken has been shown to infect eyes and ears too. Glasses, goggles, headphones with your respirator! #COVIDIsAirborne
