For everyone who has complained that conversions are counted differently in GA4 than Goals were in Universal Analytics… GA4 has just released an update you will be interested in. Image 2/ In Universal Analytics, a Goal was only counted once per session.

This meant that if you had a Goal setup for a purchase, and a customer made 3 purchases in the same session, the Goal would only fire once.

📢 GA4 has finally released a built in Landing Page report! 🎉

You no longer have to create your own, BUT, you can still edit this new built in report to make it even more useful to your organization.

Here's a few quick steps to make this report even better 👇 Image 2) This report comes with the metrics of Views, New users, Avg engagement time/user, conversions, and total revenue.

You can add or delete metrics you want to see in your report. For example, this GA4 property is for a blog website which has no revenue. I can easily remove it.

Custom Reports are a super useful tool built into GA4.

You can customize any out of the box report, or build your own from scratch.

I’ll show you how to build a GA4 custom report in < 30 seconds 👇 2/ The fastest way to create a custom report is to start from a current report that is similar to what you want to build. Custom Dimensions are a powerful tool to help you get more out of your #GoogleAnalytics analysis. In Universal Analytics, it was a 2 step process to set these up. In GA4, it’s a slightly different 2 step process. Here are the quick steps to get you on your way👇🧵 1/ First, a quick definition. In GA4, a custom dimension is actually an event parameter. You send parameters with all of the events that you collect, and then those additional pieces of information can be registered in the GA4 UI as Custom Dimensions.

This week’s GA4 thread will explore Realtime reporting in GA4. How it’s different from Realtime in UA, what I like better about it, and how to take full advantage of the info and insights it offers. Read on for all the details, 🧵 1/ In Universal Analytics, Realtime reporting is only based on the last 5 min. It’s nice that it is essentially all from the most recent past, but that insight is gone after 5 min (and then you have to wait till it’s processed into full reporting).

In Universal Analytics, you’re very used to going to the source/medium, campaign, or channel grouping report to find answers to questions like “where did my traffic come from” or “what site referred to me”.

You can do this in GA4 too! Here’s how, 🧵: 1/ GA4 has 2 types of Acquisition reports - know what you’re looking at! User acquisition will be the campaign/source/medium/channel of the *first* time that User (or cookie) has visited your site. Go to Acquisition → User Acquisition

GA4 is the new hot. Or the new not. Depends on who you ask 🤷‍♀️

Regardless of where you stand though, here are 10 reasons why you should implement GA4 today, 🧵 1/ Universal Analytics (current #googleanalytics) is being sunset (aka killed) starting July 1, 2023. That means you have a little over a year to make the switch to GA4. Sure, you could wait until June 30th, 2023 to pull that trigger… but I wouldn’t suggest it (read on for why)

‼️Universal Analytics is dead‼️ 💐⚰️

No, really. It’s just been given a deprecation date.

Here’s what you need to know ASAP, a short 🧵:

#measure #googleanalytics #ga4 1/ Universal Analytics will stop collecting new data on July 1, 2023. That means you have ~15 months to prepare.

That DOESN’T mean you can wait 15 months. In fact, that means you need to get started preparing TODAY.
