From the electoral poll bond revelations, Trinamool Congress, apart from the BJP, clearly emerges as the second richest party in the country, even though a distant second. But, while looking at the list, or analysing the funds, there are certain factors that should be taken into account.

1. Trinamool Congress, that lost its national party status a year ago, and has its limited electoral/ political influence in one state- West Bengal - does have more command over businessmen. Certainly, more than Congress, which is grand old national party, and was in govt in at least six states ( until recently) .
2. The list includes at least half a dozen on more contributions from Bengal ( businesses that are based out of West Bengal or have its roots in the state) . Three of them are clearly on the list of top 10 contributors. Even though, we do not know who gave what to whom, we can safely speculate that the Bengal businesses certainly contributed in the Trinamool bonds. Percentage is not known though. Some of these businesses have their operations in the state, while some operate outside.

There is a company on the list, which had to intimidate the stock market about its closure of plant in south 24 Paragana district allegedly for extortion and threats. The company later sought intervention by the chief minister’s office in the state.

After incident of suicides, why do we try to elaborate on the cause mostly? starting with character assassination to “debauched” lifestyle, to “absence of discipline” and finally “too much exposure to outer world”...In 3 weeks, this is 3rd suicidal case/ attempt am hearing of. An acquaintance- whom all used to envy for his clean handstands and love for his “all smiles no frown” nature - died in/of depression. Another acquaintance, a happy go lucky man, attempted but was saved by friends,and 3rd is a celebrity
