Gearing up for a week on service with a group of new interns. One really hard skill (both on the giving and receiving end) is how to successfully and productively call a consult. Here is a 🧵 First, despite the fact that 📟 apps (ours at least) allows paragraphs and paragraphs of text, a consult is best communicated in a phone call. It’s ok to page a one liner and that it a new consult, but details and the full consult are best done by direct communication 📞

1/ Hey #medtwitter #AcademicTwitter - now may be a good time to review conference call and video conference etiquette as we move to virtual meetings (and maybe even virtual conferences?) for the near future. A brief thread... 2/ Easy stuff first: say hi and introduce yourself, then MUTE YOUR PHONE. For the love of all that is good, please don't put the phone on hold. Your hold music may be fun, but please, please just don't.

How do we define normal urine output in pediatric patients?
