1/ Today we’re excited to share that creators can upgrade their existing NFT collections to Programmable NFTs (pNFTs) with royalties enforcement on Solana!

Creators can choose between 3 upgrade options:

1. Maximize compatibility with ecosystem programs
2. Enable stricter royalties enforcement (based on an allow-list), or
3. Create their own allow or deny list

1/ PSA: There is an on-going bug on Magic Eden that allows an attacker to list and sell fake NFTs that are not part of a creator’s verified collection. We've confirmed this is not an issue with the Metaplex protocol. 2/ To avoid this, marketplaces should check (a) that the collection address matches and is verified OR (b) that the creator addresses match and all are verified. We recommend the former.

Over the past 24 hours, there has been a coordinated pressure campaign led by @MagicEden and @redacted_j to take control over the multi-sig for token metadata and give it to themselves and a small group of their close allies for personal gain. 2/ Metaplex was built to elevate creators and artists above traditional gatekeepers, but those same commercial dynamics have re-emerged within Solana NFTs and are trying to pressure us into a half-baked governance scheme to take the standard out of the community’s hands.

We're adding new changes to better empower creators and provide more options when minting new #NFT assets:

• Master NFT Burn Option
• Token Standard Changes

You won't find an easy and objective way to know the total number of #NFT assets in a Collection — creating roadblocks for ongoing #DAO work, among others.

1/ PSA on Candy Machine V2:

Collections are now being enforced on Candy Machines on Devnet and will be enforced on Mainnet Beta within the coming days. Here’s what this means 👇 2/ Importantly, this will NOT impact existing Candy Machines. In the past, it was possible for some CLIs or UIs to not set the on-chain collection properly. When this change goes live, this will no longer be the case. If the creator sets a collection for their Candy Machine,

Today #Solana mainnet-beta went down partially due to botting on the Metaplex Candy Machine program. To combat this, we have merged and will soon deploy a botting penalty to the program as part of a broader effort to stabilize the network. tinyurl.com/3bwzd8kb Candy Machine is used by a majority of new #SolanaNFT projects to launch their collections. In this change, a 0.01 SOL penalty will be collected when a wallet attempts to complete an invalid transaction, which is typically done by bots that are blindly trying to mint.

Hey everyone, as you may know bots have been a core contributor to Solana network congestion.
