Q: What does customer obsession look like?

This clip of Jeff Bezos is the best example of customer obsession I’ve come across:

“If there’s one thing Amazon is about, it’s obsessive attention to the customer experience end-to-end… It doesn’t matter to me whether we’re a pure Internet play. What matters to me is whether we provide the best customer service… Our investors should be investing in a company that obsesses over customer experience. In the long term, there’s never any misalignment between customer interests and shareholder interests.”

Bezos rallied the entire company around the idea that customers will always want low prices, fast delivery and vast selection. And then executed relentlessly on being the absolute best in the world in those three areas.

In a separate interview, he explains why:

“There are many advantages to a customer-centric approach, but here’s the big one: customers are always beautifully, wonderfully dissatisfied, even when they report being happy and business is great. Even when they don’t yet know it, customers want something better, and your desire to delight customers will drive you to invent on their behalf." More from Bezos here on building a great company strategy:

PSA: If you have a bank account linked to FTX US, change your bank account password and stop sharing data immediately.

Below is a screenshot of my bank account, which they tried accessing 40 mins ago You can shut it all down via the Plaid access console if you can't do it through your bank UI too.

@Plaid are you all taking action here?

A short thread on "Economic Sustainability"

I believe this is a factor often overlooked when people compare $SOL to $ETH.

Shoutout to @epolynya for calculating the numbers I use here and coining the term (screenshot & link below)

Most people seem to have no idea that Solana's transaction fees are essentially being subsidized by hype and VCs. The platform only collects $36.5mm in annual fee revenues and issues $4 billion of inflation rewards to validators. This is totally unsustainable.

Why #ETH is More Secure than #BTC

This 23-tweet thread summarizes the second of four arguments in my essay "Why ETH Will Win Store of Value"

michaelmcguiness.com/essays/why-eth… Security is a crucial store of value (SoV) property. An asset that's not around in a few decades wouldn't be much of a value store. Just as gold is immune to rot, corrosion, & other types of deterioration, a cryptocurrency SoV must be built to last w/ proper incentive engineering

Why #ETH is More Scarce than #BTC

This 16-tweet thread summarizes the first of four arguments in my essay "Why ETH Will Win Store of Value"

michaelmcguiness.com/essays/why-eth… In "Why Bitcoin Makes Sense" I write: money is technology that makes our wealth today available for consumption tomorrow. The best money gives its holder the most purchasing power over time. Several factors influence this but the most important is scarcity michaelmcguiness.com/essays/why-bit…
