One question remains, "Has this sort of liberalization of farming tried out in India before?"
The answer to that is Bihar, 2006 onwards Bihar experimented liberalised the agriculture marketing economy, essence of the law proposed now.
The state allowed the free market to decide price of farm produce.
[ but retained MSP (Minimum Support Price) for crops that are procured for PDS (Public Distribution System) by the state government, even then it failed but lets get to that.]

Here in this thread i will try to explain all the issues farmers are facing with this new act. Everything from MSP to electricity amendment bill.
Please so share it extensively to people are educated.
#FarmersDilliChalo#FarmersBill20201) MSP is one of the things farmers are protesting for, now let me explain why MSP not mentioned in the act is an issue.
Since its not mentioned its not legal so there is nothing thats stopping them from stopping MSP, farmers won’t be able engage in legal battles.

For the people who still don’t understand “why farmers are protesting the bill?”.
Here are the reasons. 1) MSP is not mentioned in the bill, they are only verbally saying its there, we all know how that works. #DelhiChalo#FarmersProtest
Without MSP (or minimum support price) specifically mentioned in the bill private companies can stop purchasing crops at MSP anytime they want and small time farmers can hardly go into legal battles with big corps.

'why the protest is largely
concentrated in Punjab and Haryana?'
Even though most states contribute to farming the Centre only purchases paddy, wheat and few other select pulses in large quantities.
#FarmerProtest#FarmersDilliChalo
And more than half of all government procurement of wheat and paddy in the last five years has taken place in Punjab and Haryana.
